Thank you all - spent $30 on Kayo! fingers crossed...
Now need to figure out something with insurance. So is it enough if I just purchase dummy domestic travel policy for a week so value is over $100? or needs to be for specific domestic flight?

Most travel insurance goes unused - they don't know/care where you go/don't go (until you need to claim) - they just want the $. A number of reports upthread of examples.

Cant see anything on the Australian PDS: https://travel.insurance.qantas.com/international-comprehensive-pds limiting coverage to those under 65. I don't think there is a such a limit for Australian customers at all (just says you need a valid Medicare card to be eligible which any citizen or resident would have).

Was able to get a TI quote for my 80 year old Dad to go to UK no problem at all; so wandering_fred is mistaken.

Called QFF today to be told that despite registering later the promo still runs from 1 Oct
That's good news for some, as points already received before I sign up for the offer at the end of October will be counted as well. Like my October monthly bill from Red Energy...
I thought they only account for points posted after Oct31.
+ scored 280 points from Red Planet research portal today - big help that with Nov and Dec power bills should grant me valuable 20SC
