Earn up to 110 Qantas Status Credits on the ground

From today (21 October) until 30 October, Qantas Insurance is offering big points bonuses through The Qantas Insurance Points Blitz, including on travel insurance. My two-week trip is showing a 3,000-point bonus - but the issue is whether or not the points from a late December trip post before 31 Dec!

So you need to buy a policy of at least $100 (probably $101 to be sure) to get 1,500 sign-on points...

So there is this funny story... Went to BP over the weekend as I had a 10X points promo pop-up... but only for shopping products at BP. I chose the Mars King Bar 64g size, thinking that I can give all of these way to get brownie points (no, not true! I just love giving to the unexpected and seeing their smile). I don't have a sweet tooth, promise!.

Decided that I would buy 13 of the bars @ $3.99 (a killing of course!) which equated to $51.87. The pump guy asked me 5 times if I was absolutely sure about the purchase towards points. I double-checked and triple checked; saw this BP was definitely on the participating list. I confidently told him to go ahead. 💪

I scanned my BPMe card and then my QF card. It error-ed out; so I just gave the BPMe card to scan. This time it went through; spat out the receipt, 51 reward points!!! Gutted...🤣

Holding my poker face, I told him that I will sort it out and walked out of there. I had to wait till Monday morning to give BP a call. On Monday morning, I talked to the BP customer support on the phone and the lady asked for the purchase details and checked against my profile (I guess). She said, "Yeah, you are registered" and saw it only registered 51 points. I asked if it should have been 10x that to which she agreed. She said that she would push through 500 points. Then I thought I'd ask (hey, no harm right?!) and said that it would be great to get a few extra points since I had to call to sort it out.

She didn't hesitate and said that since this was an error from their end and out of good will, she will put through a 1000 points. I honestly didn't expect that and very humbly and gratefully accepted and thanked the lady. Great way to start a Monday morning I thought.

Saw the points land on QF profile this morning; 1000+51 = 1051 points = 10SC.

P.S: Over the weekend I managed to give away 5 bars...
