That seems to be the case.

The T&Cs specifically include Marriott Bonvoy as an inclusion.

I’m doing the same thing so we’ll find out in 8 weeks (or sooner)

Agreed it should, but clearly excluded in the terms for that category

Ok so one month for 1k points, $20 or so, $2/sc is a decent earn rate.

Earning Qantas SC switches the Pavlovian response from collecting Qantas Frequent Flyer Points to earning Qantas Status on the ground. As others have said - without much behaviour change, many will earn between 30-80 SC by doing what they already do in the QFF ecosystem already, so will be attractive to people who might struggle to obtain a desired Tier eg: people who don't fly enough for say Silver or say don't quite get to Gold by flying alone.

Sticking it to the RBA and proposed interchange caps is also part of the story, along with some feel-good PR after a few PR missteps in the recent and further past hangover from the Joyce era.

All the while, their competitor, Bain/Virgin Australia/Velocity, is lighting exploding cigars in their own face by increasing the requirement of spend to maintain status on an inferior product with fewer lounges and fewer international partners. Qantas loyalty must be laughing their cough off at the moment......

As an aside, VFF have allowed SCs earn via Flybuys for years (coincidently?) capped at 120 per calendar year (max 10 SCs pm).

Don’t recall seeing complaints here about those not being BIS earned SCs? Nor those of us who’ve used QF GT for what used to be cheap and easy 50 SCs.

Apart from timing (will help some more than others), I agree it’s a good initiative.

Likely would only get something from Woolworths earn. Might get something for hotel or insurance, but I don't think points for bookings in Feb would post during the the promotion period.

Have some ideas for completing hotels and travel and shopping with little effort but will see if they come through first.

Surely a sign of how pathetic rewards programs are becoming...They'll water down the entire the QFF program to be revenue based, and then introduce some new "enhancement" to tie it back to actual flying.

As an aside, VFF have allowed SCs earn via Flybuys for years (coincidently?) capped at 120 per calendar year (max 10 SCs pm).

Which is easier to hit without buying into the full ecosystem too, just shop at Coles.

I was awkwardly going to be 3 SC off retaining SG with them and this pushed me over the line easily.

I was looking at purchasing a travel insurance policy so decided to check out Qantas. Came out quite reasonable value and has a much easier health questionnaire to answer. Will purchase shortly. But it's hard to work out if I reach the 1000 points thing. Haven't used woolies card, can't be bothered finiding it each time, but thought I'd do this yesterday. Up popped the 1000 points transferred to Qantas message. I had no idea where I was up to. Will that count?

The points post shortly after the effective start date of the policy (not purchase date) - so factor that in.
