Earn double frequent flyer points on flights

Wow so many different targetted offers. Yet I got none! I'm a silver that could make gold by 31DEC if i was pushed into it (READ DOUBLE SC TRIPs..yeh) pity I never got the email.

I don't think this is their intention. They are only interested in NB or PS that could possibly make PS by the end of the promotion. I would have just scraped through to PS in my targetted year 2005/2006 and did not have enough bookings to get me there so they targetted me and the flights I took got me to PS. They have made a lot more out of me since and I still long for the day where I will be targetted for another double SC's promotion or even double FF points for Qantaslink flights. Not to be so far, but I am still hoping.

Right now I have enough bookings in the system that I would make QF Platinum by April still 2 months short of requalification. There is no reason for them to target me for the double SC's promotion as I would get there on my own anyway.

Just a question, is the double SC offer valid until the end of the period or just until we reach silver membership?

I think you will find that doubling will happen for the entire period of the promotion.

NSW resident & bronze level. I have been targeted with the double status credit offer. My Qantas review is end Nov & with a flight this weekend, double status will mean I fall over the line to silver. Was to be 20 short & was going to just let it go at that.

There are good value specials from BNE, mainly 25 Dec - 18 Feb, on QF website right now. Not sure how long they will last so you need to get in quick.

On a Sunday you can do BNE-BLT-EMD-BNE for ~$190 and 60 SC's with double SC's promotion. If you do this 3 times it will cost ~$570 and 180 SC's. Of course there are other destinatons but this is the one that has caught my eye.

Just wondering how people have gone with this? As I understand it, it will automatically credit for *all* flights carried out during this time period.

I flew PER-MEL-PER on Thursday/Friday, and only the flight to MEL has been credited for the double points.. just wondering what other people's experiences were.

Of course, on Monday if it still hasn't shown up I'll ring Qantas to see what's going on.

I just did PER-SYD. The SCs are showing as normal however when I check my balance it appears to have account for the double credits anyway. Shame I will only earn Silver membership on my way home.

How long does it take Qantas to normally send your upgraded status package out? I am not QC at the moment so am interested in the luggage tags before my next flight. Should I ring Qantas when I get home to double check they have registered my new silver status or is that just pushy and will they do it straight away anyway?

You should receive the QF Silver kit including the luggage tags within a couple of weeks of reaching Silver.

Should I ring Qantas when I get home to double check they have registered my new silver status or is that just pushy and will they do it straight away anyway?

As soon as you have taken the flight to reach Silver and the SC's have posted to your FF account your status should also be updated to Silver on your FF account.

Just an update.. bonus points arrived today for my MEL-PER but were dated as Dec 02.. odd!

Sometimes it takes a few days for SC's to post even for domestic flights.

The routines that interface flight details to FF program account information may not have processed automatically.

I acknowledge that.. however, the points for the flight there (and bonus) had posted, and the points for the flight back had posted too - just not the bonus points for the flight back.

However, all has come through now so all good

Doing another 3 return trips, at least - in the period.. so should be good!
