Just to check I've read the T&Cs properly....if using a $500 voucher to book a $99 SYD-BNE red-e-deal, upon purchase, I'll be credited with a new voucher for $401? I know there were problems with the last promotion in displaying fares, so can anyone confirm if red-e-deals will still show on the booking page?

If so, I'll probably buy up now to cover my domestic and TT flights for 2013, considering the 10:1 as well as the 2:1 earn on CC.

Bought two $500 vouchers!

Bought $500 voucher yesterday. It took a bit longer for the Booking Reference (the voucher) to come through, but that is okay... sometimes they take a bit longer.

Booked my flight... value $139, and didn't have to pay anything additional. As expected, got a message to say the remaining value will be issued on a new voucher.

Still haven't received my itinerary for the flight, which is longer than usual. It usually comes through within a few hours later, but sometime longer, so that's sort of okay.

Still haven't received the new voucher. I want to keep using the voucher to book some more flights.

Rang QFF Premium Desk. It took a little while, a few internal calls, and a call back, and it seems that ticketing are still trying to work out how to handle this new arrangement! Hahaha... gotta love that when one part of the organisation comes up with a plan, changes a product, terms and conditions etc., but may have failed to communicate further down the track to ensure it can be enacted/put in place. Apparently, a meeting is taking place right now to work out how to handle this.

Had the same issue as you, other than they've confirmed my flights, and have the voucher on hold for payment, but haven't sent me the change back in a new voucher yet. I'm means to call in a few days if I get nothing.

That's what should happen. They've changed the conditions this year so what happened last year doesn't really matter.

I can confirm visibility of red e-deals. I purchased a $100 voucher Wednesday morning and redeemed for a $95 red e-deal the same day. Had to wait for the ticket though. :(

As previously posted I called QF Friday received ticket and then voucher for the remainder the same day. They have had some issues with issuing the tickets and subsequent vouchers for the residual amount. Not sure if issues are fixed yet. Maybe someone else might have a more recent redemption. In any case the issue was with issuing the ticket. The system still held the seat and showed in "My Bookings". So unless travel was imminent it should not cause too many troubles.

So apart from having to deal with any teething issues with redeeming vouchers at the moment I see no reason not to buy up big!

Hi fellow AFFers,

I wish to get your thoughts on this scenario.

I have an existing voucher carried over from a 2012 cancellation.

It is my plan to travel - on the same international flight - with 2 others sometime in 2013, using that existing voucher - for yours truly, of course (no name changes).

BTW, I have higher QFF status than the other two.

How could I combine my existing voucher with gift vouchers (with names of the other 2 pax) so that only one PNR is generated.

That would make seat selection easier, I think.

Or, does it matter at all ?

Should I just use vouchers (in multiple of $500) with names of the other two pax to obtain a different PNR?

If so, could - or indeed, should - I combine that PNR with my PNR somehow - for the purpose of seat selection, given that I have higher QFF status?

I am a little confused.

Thanks

Firstly, it is impossible to combine PNR's with the main GDS's, including Amadeus, the one Qantas employ.

Get a 2 passenger voucher for the other 2 passengers, which will put those 2 on a single PNR. Use your existing voucher to get the second PNR and then ask QF to cross reference (otherwise known as a TCP notification) in BOTH bookings. That should give you access to your status level's seating across both PNRs in MMB. If not just ring them and ask them to assign the seats for you...

Just used this promo, to stay PS (not that high a status in the scheme of things) but have a BNE-MEL-LHR-AMS and BCN-LHR-MEL-BNE flight next anniversary year and would have come short to re-qualify due to a classic award J HNL-SYD-BNE so no SC's.

I come out with an extra 11,571 FF points for my Euro flights by staying silver.

Purchased a $600 of vouchers, and used in the current Qantaslink sales for Jan-March 2013.

BNE-ROK-MCY (BNE-ROK as one flight number and ROK-MCY as the other) and v.v. in the one day - 40 SC and 4000 FF points for $200 return.

Just for the Qantaslink flights done three times, I will get 120 SC's (enough for my re-qualification and 19,200 FF points (12000 FF points for flying, 6000 for the voucher purchase and 1200 from the CC to purchase the vouchers). Not bad for the $600 outlay

Does anyone know if you can use these vouchers on those 24hour business class sales?

Also, if there's an online only 24 hour sale what happens? Does the website take the voucher? If not, will the call centre match the price?
From my experience sale airfares appear when redeeming the voucher.

BNE-ROK-MCY (BNE-ROK as one flight number and ROK-MCY as the other) and v.v. in the one day - 40 SC and 4000 FF points for $200 return.

Is that offer open to any of us BNE-ites?

I'm a noob; I could certainly do with some training in value-tweaking! :)

Sure, I'd prefer to share over a beer than here, no offence to AFF, hence why I mentioned the Christmas gathering ;)

Thank you! Unfortunately for me, I'm over here (QF125) until just before Christmas, so I'll miss out.

But any tips you could share here or via PM would certainly be appreciated; I thought michaelk's flights looked pretty good, but I've been SG for 2.5 years and am still definitely a noob to all of this!

But, back on-topic: I'll test the waters myself, too, with a $500 voucher. I'll probably regret it, either by not flying private QF enough, or too much, but it seems like a pretty good deal.

The email came within an hour for me but I also took note of the reference number when I purchased so I could use immediately

I don't drink alcohol so don't frequent too many pubs (especially with a 2year old in tow) - Macdonals playgrounds don't appear to be a regular party venue for AFF'ers
