| Qantas Points Online Mall-

EARN 2 POINTS PER $1

Woolworths - Australia’s largest supermarket chain. Shop with the Fresh Food People today. With more choices than ever before, 14 million Australians pick Woolworths for their food shopping every week. From fresh produce to the choicest homegrown meat, we always pick the best for our customers. Qantas points are only available for online purchases made through the Online Mall.

BUT:
Woolworths terms and conditions
Qantas points are only available for online purchases made through the Online Mall. Qantas points are not eligible on gift cards. Coupons/promotional codes not listed on the Qantas site are not eligible to receive points.

So if paying with a eGift you will be better forgoing this and making the 5%.

This offer is better IMO than getting the $1 for a $100+ online spend via the Cashrewards Portal if paying by credit card.

Sounds perfect. Buy gift cards via the entertainment book or cash rewards for a 5% discount with an Amex Platinum Edge for 3 points per dollar. Now combine this offer to get another 2 points/dollar. Will certainly help accrue extra points.

It would be BUT you skipped over this part of my post..

where I highlighted that no QFF points are earnt if you pay with a gift card. There is the same problem with DJs in the online mall too.

Is that the correct interpretation though (I.e QFFP aren’t earned when paying by gift card, or they aren’t earned when you purchase a gift card?) If it’s the latter, it’s a fairly stock standard condition amongst the loyalty programs.

Well you cannot purchase Gift Cards online via the WOW online Portal so that really only leaves Option A, unless they are including fine print for no reason which with marketing departments is entirely possible ;)

Looking at the DJ Store though the wording is different:

David Jones terms and conditions
Qantas Points are not awarded on gift card/voucher purchases, purchases made using a gift card/voucher, items that have been refunded, taxes and delivery charges or in conjunction with any other offer, voucher or discount code unless listed on this page, or with any other discounts such as staff or student discount. Qantas points are also not awarded on all products from the following brands; CHANEL, Apple, Country Road, Witchery, Trenery, Mimco, Miele, Ultraceuticals, Luxaflex, David Jones Flowers & Wine Club.

So one could do a test transaction to see.

I think you will find the points don't apply for buying gift cards. There should be nothing stopping you from paying with them.

This would be more in line with other loyalty programs.

I’m not sure I agree with your interpretation though. Are you sure you can’t purchase gift cards online from Woolworths?

Next time I get an attractive online deal I will do a test run. Worst that will happen is that I would forgo the $1 cashback from Cashrewards.

Might be a little while though as I normally shop in store as that way I can take advantage of the various in-store only mark downs.

PS: though... Discounts or offer codes not provided by this site will result in members not earning Qantas Points for a purchase. So this may need testing as well...

It sounds like a mostly useless offer unless you are a person who usually shops with Woolworths online. The only time I shop with Woolworths Online is if I have a really good coupon code or targeted offer and I don't think I'd be able to combine these with the deal above.

I have heard of not being able to pay with gift cards if you want this type of "cashback" but I agree the terms are confusing. I take it as you can't purchase gift cards and get the QFF points. I've seen stupid terms and conditions where they exempt a type of item that you couldn't buy with the deal anyway.

Already onto this yesterday - first order in and picked up - I paid with an e-gift card
I will let you know
a) If I get the email from Qantas acknowledging spend through the portal
b) 30 days time if I get the points

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Doing Cashrewards and QFF Online Mall may be a challenge. I would have thought it was one or the other. Ne interested to hear if anyone pulls that off!

One would buy a WOW egift card through cashrewards (or another such company) this earning CC points and then use it to pay at the WOW site after having clicked through from the Qantas portal..

Now whether each works is the question

We know that with DJs that it does not work (ie paying with a GC but still getting the Portal Points), BUT the terms are worded differently.

Ok, you win....

...Maybe! :)

How long does the qantas email take to come through. I used it a couple of days ago attempting to take up a special offer but haven't received a confirmation email from qantas.

Neither have I - I suspect that the e-gift card was a fail.
Going to email them tonight

Dave

I've made five Woolworths orders all via the Qantas mall since this offer started. Had not received any confirmation of any tracking until overnight when five separate emails arrived from Qantas advising the points are on the way. All orders were paid for using e-gift cards. Looks like it may work out nicely.
