Just wondering about ordering something from USA and having it shipped to me in AU.

It is over $1k in value, so would be liable for GST/Duty inbound. But I would be leaving back for Europe less than a week later. Is it possible to have it refunded in these cases? (ie. immediate export).

Thanks,

QPP.

Hi there, if the goods are US made, they will be duty free so you would only be looking at the GST. Can I ask what the goods are and are they coming back to Australia after the re export to Europe?

Apart from the TRS, there is another process called duty drawback. It is set up allow the refund of duty and GST for goods that are exported from AU. A bit more tedious to claim than the TRS and typically established for companies. If you go to Australian Border Force home page and under business there are the necessary forms (sorry not sure how to post a link in the new phone) however the time it takes you to complete it may not be worth your time. I'm in the clearance and logistics game if you are wondering how I know
