Is Duty Free Ex BKK any better on price than departing other countries in SE Asia?

Any stand out products worth purchasing - or is BKK another case of walk on through and head straight to the lounge?

Can anyone confirm that Duty Free Alcohol sales ex BKK on flights back to Australia is still unavailable?

Thanks in Advance.

Basic spirits are around A$25 to A$30, Glenmorangie A$75.
I only buy on arrival, but they will now deliver to the gate for Aus departures.

Thanks for your reply- so sounds like Spirits are somewhat cheaper than Australia, which might be worth considering.

DCC - Do you mean Dynamic Currency Conversion at the register?

Historically I've found the prices broadly similar, but the exchange rate hasn't done us any favours recently.

Bought Beefeater gin recently for THB660 = AUD28.

Suggest you check the local prices on departure from Aus.

Yes, the shops will often default to AUD if you don't specify otherwise.

Depends on what you're buying.

I find SIN cheaper than BKK and places such as KUL, HKG, TPE more expensive than BKK.

Do note that some specials in Australia can be much cheaper especially if more than one adult travelling.

Better offers in wine than in spirits due to high alcohol tax on wine in Thailand, and anything above the JW black & Chivas Regal might be cheaper DF. Basic Spirits just buy over there.
