Duty free at SYD on transit to MEL

I will be returning from NAN to MEL via SYD. If I buy duty free (alcohol) on arrival at SYD. Can I carry it onboard through to MEL, or do I pass through security again at the domestic. I will be travelling with carry-on only. Thanks for any advice you might give.

I've never had an issue with duty free coming through SYD when returning to BNE - so I would think that you should be OK.

Do the liquids, aerosols and gels restrictions apply to domestic air services?
No. The liquids, aerosols and gels restrictions only apply to international flights.

As long as SYD-MEL leaves from the domestic terminal, you should be fine. If your flight number is above QF400 then you're all OK.

Where does your SYD-MEL flight depart from?

• If T1 (Int) then the answer is no.
• Otherwise (T2/T3, Dom.) the answer is yes.

Thanks for the quick responses. SYD-MEL is from T3 with QF so my purchases should be safe. I will be able to refresh my Tanqueray 10 supplies.
