Ok, a mate who is a TA sent me this - looks like I will be picking it up in SIN or LHR (from what has been said here, SIN looks like the best option, although I might have to give Cap't Mog's spicy stuff a crack.)

Passengers Travelling from Australia to Frankfurt or London via Singapore
Passengers travelling on a flight which transits Singapore will be required to disembark and remove all items of carry-on baggage (including liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100ml) during the transit. All carry on baggage will be screened before passengers re-join their onward flight, and any liquids, aerosols and gels exceeding 100ml taken through the transit screening point will have to be surrendered and will not be returned.

Johnny Black 1L or 1.1L? I rarely see 1.1L bottles in duty free outside of Australia/NZ.

Yeah SIN is a touch cheaper, but not always. Additionally, if you get freebies with your spirits, you have to consider whether this affects your duty free limit (eg 1L x2 +250Ml is 50Ml over the 2.2L limit in Australia. If you declare this, then customs could potentially charge you full duty on the entire 2.25L. Then again, they could just tell you to go! Not declaring could also have the same risk)

1.125L of JW black and Chivas 12 year old are available at SIN airport.

Pretty sure the incoming pax card for Aus says 2 x 1125ml of alcohol/spirits. But I might be wrong.

Aaah, yes. Indeed! 2.25L, not 2.2L :)

But my advice still applies... If Customs wants to get narky, then they will. I believe Border Security showed a guy this week who was 2 packs over the carton of cigarettes and he was being asked to pay the duty. (Cigarette limit is 250 cigs + 1 open pack). He wasn't happy at all!

Of course limits can be shared subject to the various rules, so this can help in certain situations.
Indeed I will NEVER exceed the DF limits, even by 50ml. Its not worth the risk since they can then charge duty on the whole amount, not just the 50ml over the limit.

Incoming pax card makes no reference to a number of bottle, just to the total volume. Can't remember if its noted as 2250ml or 2.25 litres.

I alway keep a few incoming cards spare -

"... 2250mL ..."
yeh, I thought I had some here too. But could only find outgoing for Australia, and incoming for UK, USA and Malaysia. Time to collect some more Aussie incoming cards for my travel document wallet.

I know its not the best, but bundy is pretty hard to source outside australia in duty free.

Just go down town to duty free and buy somethere. Pack it in luggage. I think Brisbull wants it for over there, on the way back he probably will raid the duty free on the way in.

:D
