Hi All,
Have just been rejected from buying booze in GOT Airport (Gotenburg - Sweden), on a GOT-BUD flight from the duty free shop (after security) and was told that since l was flying within the EU (EU-EU), no go.. I am seriously confused now with the liquor laws and thought that it was pretty much 1 litre once inside the EU?

In the last 3 weeks, l have done, LHR-BUD and BUD-TXL (return) with 1 litre of scotch per sector with no issues what-so-ever. The alcohol was purchased after security each time and was taken as carry on. Through customs on the other side, easy as pie. This current situation has confused me and l'm putting it down to the 'Duty Free shop Dragon', but l could be wrong.

Google hasn't healped much in regards to alcohol allowed departing Sweden.

Only site l could find quickly while at the lounge waiting my departure- Heathrow Airport Guide

Any help would be appreciated....

I think the problem you've run into is the rule that you can ship alcohol between various EU countries, but need to have paid duty on them when acquired within the EU. I don't believe there is a "tax free" scheme within the EU.
