There are many threads this is occurring and I am now getting heaps of these. When I add new post the wheel spins and spins and then appears to time out and asks to either cancel or leave. Cancel goes back to the add post screen where as Leave adds another post unless the previous post is within the past 5 minutes.

Is this an issue with the server or the Samsung smartphone?

I'm inclined to think it's the Samsung phone because I have the same problem myself.

Ooooh. I'm also getting this fairly regularly on the desktop version using Chrome. If you click "Leave" the post posts.

I haven't seen it except for the post you reported JohnK.

I certainly don't have the problem from my laptop but I'm using Safari. I'll use Chrome for a while and see if there is any difference.

I haven't noticed any issues through Chrome, however I do not post as often as some of you do. There also have not been any server changes that could be causing issues.

We will continue to monitor the situation.

Actually I've had that problem quite a few times in the past couple of weeks using Safari. From memory it's been on laptop and as it's getting old I put it down to that but maybe not if others have the same issue.

I've had the same problem for the last month. I though it may have been because I was OS. It is not isolated to just one device or brand of device or browser.

I've had the Cancel/Leave situation described a few times on Windows 10/Chrome. Once when I hit Leave I don't know what happened - I couldn't find the thread after that - not sure whether I killed it or not let alone my post!

In such a situation, I would posit that when clicking "Post", although the browser thinks it hasn't posted the message, it actually has. When you then click "Leave" you end up seeing the post that you made but were not aware you made.

I have encountered this before, but not recently.

I will continue to investigate on my end.

I had this problem a minute ago or so. I did not click "leave", I just copied what I was trying to post and I clicked f5 only to find out that my post was already there. :)

This is happening to me regularly (but not always) on my Windows desktop and Chrome.

Happening regularly on Chrome on PC

I've also stopped getting emails when threads I am subscribed to (the instant notification is still clearly switched on) get new posts. I may have switched something by mistake but are others experiencing this too??

I have now experienced the posting issue.

The logical workaround is to choose to stay on the page so you can copy what you have written in case it was not posted. You then refresh the page, at which point the same dialog will again pop-up asking whether you're sure you want to leave the page as you have unsaved content, and you say yes as you have copied it. You will then see your reply did make it to the post and can continue on, however, if it didn't, you can paste your reply and try again.

If you choose to "leave page" initially, it will for some reason double post.
