First time in Dubai in August for 3 nights and after reading some of the reports today wondering why I am going but its booked so now looking for an hotel recommendation with club access for breakfast and evening drinks/canapés..currently looking at The Hilton on the walk and Sofitel..Don't want to pay an arm and a leg but at the same time want to be somewhere safe, central and good amenties..thanks

It will be hot hot hot. We were there in July. If this year August won't be Ramadan time so that's a good thing. Don't worry about booking a balcony - it will be too hot to use it. Make sure there is a great pool. Alcohol is very expensive so a Club room is usually a good thing. We stayed at the Intercontinental at the airport but pool needs improvement. I wouldn't worry about anything at the beach either due to heat. Mid city is probably the way to go with aircond taxis and malls close by.

Been to Dubai twice and returning in 4 weeks. As a female I felt very safe touring on my own but didn't go out clubbing.
