Re: QF A380 and EK A380 Joint Sydney Flyover 31 March

I noticed that EK412 to AKL has been canned today , which I assume is due to the a/c being used for the flyover.

Wonder how the pax have been reaccomodated.... bet they are ecstatic that their flight was canx for a publicity stunt...

Im sure QF would have lent a hand . i would think there would be plenty of available capacity across the Tasman on Easter Sunday

Just looking at flightradar and it is showing QF6600 (VH-OQJ) at the terminal , whilst Im not 100% sure , but would hazard a guess, is the QF a/c for the flyover.

EK 8388 now showing which would also be for the flyover

Ok I'm at Blues Point Reserve now. Quite a few people here with fancy cameras.

Any word on whether it will be televised?

Im keeping an eye on Ch7 and News 24, 9 is now sport so doubt it there..

In reality, i dont think we will see it on TV until tonight's news :(

Channel 7 had a chopper filming the takeoff from SYD , so i think they will have footage on the news of the flyover

Pretty amazing to watch, and I was surprised by how many people had gathered. There were massive traffic jams around Blues Point Reserve as people just stopped in the middle of the road to get out of their cars and watch.

My pictures aren't very good, but it gives you a taste. I was surprised by how far north of the bridge they were....had thought it would be closer to the City which was why I went to Blues Point.
