A year ago I dropped from my normal PS back down to NB because I did less flying than usual and the one work trip wasn't on a OW carrier. I was going to make it back up to PS anyway, but Qantas sent me a double SC offer which means a small JASA would get me gold for the first time :)

The most convenient time to do this would be the last weekend in May, but my qualification year ends on May 30. I've heard that DSCs can take up to six weeks to post, so flying earlier may be better. If I fly in May but the SCs post in June, would that mean missing out on gold, or will they figure out that I flew in the then-previous membership year and I earned it?

I do the JASA in April to make sure, it's just not as convenient.

Just went through the same thing.
Double status credits were credited within 3 business days.
For my last flight, which was the day before my anniversary date, the double status credits were indeed credited in my new qualification year, however they were stated as "status credits earned not included in current year" and they do not show on my balance. hence, my status ticked over to platinum within a day or so =]

My DSC's (on eight or so flights during my DSC period) all credited on the forth calendar day after the flight :)

Status credits - double or not - always relate to the date of travelling, no matter when they are posted.

There is a chance I guess of the doubles not being posted for some time and the system not recognising it as being in the 'previous' year, but if this happens a call to QF should fix no probs.

All flights within my DSC offers last year posted 3 days after the initial credits, which in turn posted a day after or on the day of flight.

Thanks for the confirmation. It's what I guessed, but I wasn't certain so thought I'd check before booking.

I just received by DSCs from an earlier flight, so onward to SG for me :)
