Hi all,

Does anyone have a list of first class routes with Dragonair (CX codeshare) ? I was looking at return flights ex HKG for status credit runs / holidays while in Hong Kong, eg HKG-PEK, HKG-PVG ...

Cheers

It appears they only have 8 A330’s with F and they all operate intra-China, but I can’t find any more info than that sorry. You might have to click through every city and see which routes don’t show F.

Looking through the Fare Types and Conditions, which is a slow process too, it seems ever destination has First, presumably because CX flies it if KA doesn’t, so that’s useless.

Beijing has it, Changsha doesn’t, but I gave up after that, got too complicated for me.

cx/ka sells fares in F but only flys in J on certain routes.
I have the CX book at home if you can wait a while.

Thanks guys ...

Kaohsiung ? I had never heard of it ... Could not find any codeshare flights with CX HKG-KHH but you can still book the route with Dragonair. Another OW first class route scrapped !

Dragonair is an affiliate one world member, Kaosiung is an alternate to Taipei at the bottom of the island.

Status Credits are earned on all eligible booking classes.

Excluded: Points and Status Credits are not earned on joint venture flights or Codeshare Flights operated by airlines other than oneworld Alliance Airlines.

So do you get Qantas Status Credits & FF points for a KA flight ?

CX=KA as far as QF are concerned. Have you checked the cheap J returns ex Taipei to SIN via HKG @ $500AUD or thereabouts return, might be an option. I suppose you could always use KA with a reposition to TPE via a cheap flight from FAT, always laughed when I saw FAT on the tail as the planes landed at TPE!

Thanks guys, for some reason I only thought CX flights only got SCs.. (I think that was the case a while ago before Dragonair became an affiliate.) Now to more calculations for status credit runs with KA !!! Yeah keeping an eye on TPE/SIN/HKG route - that is a SC winner !

(Shanghai is looking good with the World Expo coming up ... :D )

Let us know how you go - I've been doing the same on the CX website, to much frustration as my new anniversary date is the day after the cheaper fares end! :)

I've flown KHH-HKG using KA before but only in J. Don't recall seeing a F cabin and am pretty sure there isn't one servicing these points. Nonetheless, their J product is nice with fairly new planes. Not many folks know about KA and flights are usually pretty sparse upfront. Lounge in KHH is tiny and nothing to write home about (think regional QC but much smaller!)

Here is a picture of one of their first class cabin A330 at KHH.

8 of the 14 A330s have F, and its readily sold as F online for HKG-KHH

I've been on KA 10 times now between HKG and PVG, 8 times in J and twice in F (one of which was an op-up).

Personally I have a soft spot for them, no problems, very good service, food much better than QF Domestic J.
