The saga continues!*

I booked J arrived at the airport early and was offered an earlier flight in J.

All was going well until the meal service. I didn't fancy the curried pumpkin soup so took up the offer of the boxed cheese selection from Y.

Lo and behold there was no boxed Y selection from Y.

Pfft. I was downgraded.....admittedly I booked J, flew J at a time more convenient for me and was looked after superbly, as usual, by the excellent QF crew but at the end of the day I felt downgraded. (Well certainly by the rules imposed by the wannabe lawyers on this site.)

* Apologies to RedRoo. My experience with QF was genuinely excellent at every step, and especially in the SYD QF Lounge where the Lounge Angels excelled themselves in solving a particular self caused problem I had. I for one cannot speak highly enough of the QF team on my current trip. You'd think that every person was downgraded on every flight if you read the utter rubbish posted here.

Seeing we have a somewhat facetious thread, I am going to go totally off topic and say I have just had the most amazing service from Qantas loyalty. I had a bit of a whinge to Lesley at the recent coughtail party and she asked me to put it in writing which I did and her team went out of their way to follow up and give me feedback. While I have to admit the recent downgrade debacle did rock me to the core, on the whole I still believe we are lucky to have a wonderful airline like Qantas. Just wish they had more destinations (and more First!).
 
I'm expecting a thread any day where a person is screaming that they got downgraded from 2A in the F cabin to have to sit in the K aisle, a far less satisfactory location due to increased foot traffic. And because they couldn't see the sunset.
 
I was recently downgraded (in J) from a 333 to a 738 on a MEL-PER flight!

The crew complained more than me!

What compensation should you get? I think a full refund of the flight cost, a free F flight anywhere on the QF network and a personal apology from AJ is in order.....
 
I was downgraded in Y on Wednesday. :p VA made me sit all the way back in row 22... What a rip off.

Never mind that they were able to put me on a flight that got me home 2 hours earlier and was one where I was served a beer.... ;)
 
Last time I flew F they only had the Taittinger rather than the Pol Roger - DOWNGRADED AGAIN!
 
Qantas doesn't do that to me. I buy all these flights with QF flight numbers and I am upgraded onto an EK bird!
