Double Status Credits Virgin Australia Activate by 10th Feb 2023. and Travel by 31st March 2023

I just flew SYD - BNE - CNS. Status posted immediately for myself and wife. However, double status credits haven't posted for my wife yet. We both sat in J class. Will have to wait 8 weeks to see if it gets posted or not.
Doesn't sound like the offer was activated on your wife's Velocity account.
Can you see "offer activated" in yours wife's Velocity account/app?

I actually activated it on my wife account and then book via AMEX Travel for some 10% discount. Hence, it should work. I will probably wait till the end of next week to see if it changes.

Okay, should be fine then. I'm sure it'll show up soon :)

if my review date is 28th of Feb, does the status credit need to hit my account before that date or is it enough to just fly to get the credit before that date?

As long as you fly, earn the credits, before the review date. Even if the credits don't hit your account until the following day, they are dated correctly for the time you travelled.
If flying on VA, I've never seen it take more than 3 days for the credits to be applied, and mostly they hit your account the day after.

Thank you, makes sense

Was there an offer in the app? I don't see any VA offers for plat charge
From what I understand, this is not on the app ... the discount is shown when booking on the website ... I have seen screenshots from websites before, not app ... Too bad the discount doesn't apply for all amex cards when booking amex travel. Trying to get rid of a $450 credit, too hard!

Has anyone experienced VA bumping you up, if say you are short of <50 status points to retain WP?
I don't think any airline is going to do that ... not unless there is a wide extension/comp offer, which I don't think VA would do given their IPO situation etc ... I think in the VA status run thread someone asked that they are 11 SC short and if they need to do a status run and the answer is yes ... so if 11 SC needs to do a run, 50 SC definitely need to ...

Thanks for all the tips! Ended up booking SYD-BNE-CNS-BNE-SYD in J in early March for $1140 return - nice 540 status credits.

I left my run to requalify for SG late, renews 28 February and only started earning credits again last month and will hit 400 credits mid-month. So after this Cairns trip I will have up until January 2024 to earn the remaining 60 credits to upgrade to WP.

I'm hoping they don't upgrade me early, I'd prefer to pool away some credits, enjoy Gold for most of 2023, get WP for 2024 and then in the worst case scenario I soft-land to Gold in 2025, ensuring lounge access all the way through to the start of 2026!

I've got a review date of 10FEB but a card valid until 10MAR.
Was going to travel before 10 March to retain Gold.
Looks like I've left it too late as well.

The card is valid for an extended period to cover delays in credits being applied, as above. But the credits actually have to been earnt before the review date, so 10 Feb in your case.

I would like to thank the work experience kids running the Virgin loyalty department for their unexpected gift this AM….

Has anyone else has sc’s given to them that they perhaps have not ‘deserved’…?

Thank you!
I'll call tomorrow to see if they'll give me an extra few weeks to requalify.
Otherwise guess I'll be downgraded to silver.

Just booked CBR-MEL-ADL-SYD-CBR in J and CBR-MEL-ADL return in J for a total of approx $1900, hopefully netting 880SC. Used CDX47

One of the legs SYD-CBR is going to Link Airways Saab (and hence no J seats, but J SC's are awarded). Wondering if this leg would be eligible for DSC? My understanding is it would be because there are no VA operated VA flights ex-CBR to SYD ... Thoughts?
