Quick question, that I think I know the answer to but want to double check.

I booked flexible domestic trans-Australia flights during the double status promotion for a trip in June. Booked one of the flights as an evening flight due to work commitments during that day.

Have now shuffled work and so could leave any time, and could now leave NSW for Perth any time rather than just evening.

However if I now use the flex option to change flights to an earlier flight, I’m assuming that means that flight would lose the double SC the original flight carries?

Thanks!

If you simply change flights you’ll retain DSC as the booking reference will stay the same and this is the most important thing. If you cancel and rebook, this would be a new booking reference and not eligible for DSC.

Oh that’s good to know! exactly what I want to do!

As above changing to an earlier (or later) flight on same day is fine. Indeed changing it to any time within the travel period (ie: 2 Apr - 21 Mar 23) is fine too. The only time you'd lose it if you changed to a flight after the end of the travel period - ie after 21 March 23 (iirc).

So in this case it's fine to change.. (but don't cancel the booking!)
