"Operated by Qantas".

What if it's operated by Sun state on behalf of Eastern Australia Airlines" or similar or "QantasLink -National Jet Systems"

Colleague said operated by Sunstate. That means not operated by Qantas.

Show them this:

QantasLink (QF) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Qantas Airways and Australia's largest regional airline. It operates around 2,000 flights each week to nearly 50 metropolitan and regional destinations across Australia. QantasLink is comprised of three different regional airlines - Airlink, Eastern Australia Airlines and Sunstate Airlines.

Sunstate Airlines is wholly owned by Qantas. I believe they are kept separate due to EBAs (but could be wrong.)

where exactly do you get this idea from?

I already addressed your 2nd question. You can purchase these fares cia any channel.
I got it from this post and the next couple including the one that I quoted from yourself that I mentioned above:

The 24h free cancel window has nothing to do with changing dates or routes so I'm a bit unsure how you joined those dots tbh.

Is it possible to create a PNR from a classic reward flight purchased during the DSC booking period and then later continue to build a RTW itinerary (prior to taking the first flight of course and so long as all my classic reward flights are within the total DSC travel period) and still have every leg get DSC? I’m a PC member.

I saw a similar reference to this by RSD earlier in the thread, but it was a fare based discussion…

Yes this should work.

Finally a new question. I suspect yes, but leave it to the resident panelists for confirmation.

Every eligible leg, yes. The RTW itinerary will obviously include many non-QF operated flights, and those won't credit any SCs or DSCs

Yes, but given the difficulties with building OWA tickets, unless you have a good solid chunk already available, it might be more of struggle later, so keep that in mind.

Also this only works with the QF legs. If the majority of your flying are with partners then there's not too much of a difference.

Yes, sorry I forgot to add that detail before. I intend to take some domestic legs too which will all be QF and get the SC/DSC benefit there as well. Conscious those other international legs on other airlines won’t count toward SC/DSC earn, but want to take advantage of the lucrative RTW points cap!

I’ve left my run a little late due to issues regarding getting approved leave from work, but I’ve decided to bite the bullet and just book a flex so I can change if need be.

Like many I’ve had issues with the multi-city tool, I have been forced to split up flights which worries me particularly through LAX (ADL to LAX, then LAX to RIC), when I try to find flights ADL-RIC on the date I want it tells me no options but when I split it on the same date I am able to find the exact flights I was offered a few days ago.

So my question is if I book in this way, ADL-LAX then LAX-RIC, on the same ticket and same day but not a continuous leg, will I be able to check in and have my bags checked the whole way through?

I’m dreading the thought of a delay costing me the LAX-RIC portion.
