Very confusing.
So I have to book with a corporate travel agent. But one of my employees can book with accelerate or corporate travel agent. As someone who owns and accelerate registered business, that's just annoying. But looking at the below condition what does that mean:

Bookings containing multiple guests, with a valid and activated Velocity membership number, are also eligible for this promotion.

if my employee books via accelerate and includes me do we both get double since we are both registered for the promo? OR is it more wider. multiple guests, with a valid and activated velocity number, are also eligible. So if we bring along another employee who didn't get the double status offer but does have a valid and activated velocity number. Does that condition make all of us eligible for the double status as we're on the same booking?

This is confusing!

The thread title is misleading. I believe this is targeted to a small percentage who book through corporate travel?

I've never booked through corporate travel, all my travelling is for leisure yet I've received the offer.

Wonder if the target criteria is based on previous discount codes?

A friend asked VA on Twitter for clarification. However he is still waiting for a response and after querying again this afternoon, has been told that VA are still awaiting clarification themselves. Embarrassing again, the party never stops at Virgin.

New email just arrived with the wording:
"BOOK an eligible Virgin Australia flight by 31 May 2018 on the Virgin Australia Business Portal or through your Travel Management Company"

My friend received clarification similar to the above, it has to be via a travel management company.

Response from Virgin about my query on how to book a flight that qualifies -

As per terms and conditions, to be eligible, you must activate the offer by 15 May 2018; book an eligible Virgin Australia flight by 31 May 2018 with Accelerate or participating travel management company; and fly by 31 July 2018. Hence, booking through the website will not be an accepted method.

Also, contra, sponsorship and ticket fund bookings wherein B2B Business Portal was used was then referred ineligible for this offer.

As we don't provide list of the participating Travel Management Companies, please coordinate with your travel agency if your flights, provided that the booking is for corporate travel, will be eligible for the promotion or if they are participants of the offer.

If theres anything else we can do for you, please visit velocityfrequentflyer.com or call the Membership Contact Centre on the number below.

For me this demonstrates a poorly though out marketing campaign, based on equally poor data analytics (I have never booked travel through an agent, corporate or not) that erodes my view of Virgin as an organisation.

Agreed on poorly targeted. It is the first targeted offer I can recall receiving in over three years (& I'm WP) and my company ceased using Accelerate over five years ago, simply booking directly at VA's standard portal since then.

Has anyone clarified if accelerate is included under the umbrella of the "travel management company" or does the offer need to stipulate accelerate specifically?

I spoke directly to Accelerate... bookings made through the portal qualify. I joined Accelerate some time ago, but have never used it. I made a booking, but when it came to seat selection, I was charged for EconomyX, which as a WP should be at no cost. Cancelled and waiting for the call back.......

I also received this offer. Again have Never booked through a travel management company. Asked on Facebook and received the same odd response, they didn’t really seem to know what was going on.

so i received the offer and signed up. I also signed my dad up, and booked his flights. Guess what, he received double SC's this morning :)

Happy to report that my recent SYD-MEL Elevate delivered 30 SCs and same on return journey. Booked via Egencia, which I believe is Expedia's corporate travel division.

My SYD-ADL oneway on Freedom fare booked via FCM Travel comes with Double SCs (50SCs) this morning also.

Received the offer. Fortunately, all my work travel is booked through a CTA portal. Reasonably impressed with the booking window Length.

Starting to see some extra SCs come through.
