Double status credits - advice/opinions please

Hi all,

just after advice/opinions please. I have just received a DSC offer today to go through until end Nov. I am currently gold and with my planned flying in the remainder of my qualifying year, will be gold again. However, as I have the DSC offer, I'm seriously considering a status run to go for Platinum. I will need 750SC total, so my run needs to be 375 with the DSC. But with the current ASA debacle, will it be possible or worth it? If ASAs had been available as they were per June , I Would've researched it thoroughly and gone for it. Now it seems almost impossible. I am based Mel with around 50000 points to play with. Thoughts??

Jump on the JASA bandwagon before it leaves town, 48000 plus cash should net you 560 SC doing the TSV DRW run, as a SG it will earn you 19094 points back. If you can top up points with a strategic Epiqure points your goal is achievable.

Another option is to take advantage of the cheap PE ex SIN, around AUD$1000 return, earns 320 SC each time under the double, you have to get to Sin but Brazil can help.

Not quite, that's only 240SC before the double.

I had given up on WP this year as I needed 580 SC..but now that I just spied the little double SC offer - the carrot is now dangling! Mmmmm...

Howdy Isabelt28. I got exactly the same DSC Offer today as well & I am in pretty much the same position as you, with a similar number of status Credits I need to get to Platinum.

I had a grin on my face similar to a Cheshire Cat when I read & accepted the email from Qantas this evening & my feeling is something similar to yours.... will I go let this opportunity pass by or will I go in for the Kill (AKA...... do a few JASA Status runs & get Platinum).

As I am a rather hungry cat.... I will go for the kill I think.
