Double Status Credits 2013

Probably due to Northern Hemisphere Summer high season! Didnt the Oct offer have to be booked by December?

I was alluding to the then un-announced EK tie up and dropping of LHR QF connections from Asia :)

Yes, you are correct as ever - the October offer of course had to be booked before Nov '12 actually. Phooey.

They back date the status credits to the correct date so don't worry too much.

And they even have a new symbol to use to indicate that the Service Credits were not credited in the current membership year (I can't seem to copy it here) - but the words say "Status credits for this flight are not included in the current year total".

Considering it was announced September 6 ;)

I received a Status promo last year 2012 which help me hit Platinum. Should I exepect one this year?

My double status points plus bonus 8K arrived today (Tues.) a mere 2 days after travel completed on Sunday, WOW.

Not necessarily. If you can avoid booking travel for the same period, you could get lucky, but you could also not receive the offers and have fares rise. Best to book important travel when you can.

The double dagger or diesis, has been used for a while, ‡.

Have my year end at the end of August, so if I'm lucky and get the DSC it will hopefully come through the first few days of June... been holding off for ages for a bunch of discount economy trips that would push me over the Platinum for the first time. Never thought I would get close with only domestic discount economy flights!

Fingers crossed DSC will come through!

Just completed my run be SG again till Nov1st 2014 now, and as we have only couple trips slated for next year for not many SC's the good woman says use the double status again (before June 30th) go fly somewhere to get the other 590 points you need to go Plat. and be SG anyway the year after no matter what, it she telling me something?. Any suggestions out of CNS without going out of OZ?.

CNS-BNE-SIN can be had for 100000 points return over the June long weekend with a $793 and earns 720 SC under the double, factor in 20000 points earned as SG, and a loyalty bonus of 8000 x 2 the real cost is 64000 points and circa $800, I know you wanted domestic but thats hard work ex CNS and expensive. Besides, its time to checkout the new lounge in SIN!

Once again markis10 you have excelled yourself, thank you, I'll certainly look into it.

How come 8000 bonus points x 2?.

Platinum qual is 1400 SC, if your 590 short that would suggest your sitting on 810 SC for the membership year, and you earn 8000 points as a loyalty bonus every 500 SC, so 720 SC added to 810 puts you over the 1500 mark, triggering two bonuses.

That's a hell of a run! If I was offered DSC towards the end of this membership year (December - February) that sort of a run would bring me very close to P1! And I'd actually be able to do it at last... :p oh to dream...

She seems to be telling you to get on a plane...
That's a great plan - minimum status of SG till end 2015 - combine that with markis10's suggestion, no doubt your next post will be telling us you've booked the CNS-SIN run...? :p

Incidentally, my DSC flights were 17-19 April, all SCs, including DSCs, posted by 23rd April, Gold Pack posted out 1st May. A great promo very well run IMHO.
Add to that excellent cabin service on all flights, including the Y flight to PVG (especially compared to the very ordinary Y service on my last couple of CX flights) has got me thinking about the SIN run in reverse (in NKG at the moment) before the DSC offer runs out to get WP as well! Shame my schedule here is so tight :(

After my Per--BNE--CNS--MEL--PER DSC which doubled as a rental property inspection, which requalified my silver and sent me to gold for the first time, I'm doing the same run to qualify for platinum. Reason is

1) first class lounges overseas on Honeymoon

2) platinum for 19 months

3) guaranteed gold until feb 2016

with my new status i was very happy when I rang Cathay and asked for an exit row for myself and my boss for a Taiwan trip and got all 4 legs for free when it cost my boss $250.

Status runs are worth it if you do a lot of Y flying and you exploit all the benefits that higher status gives you.

And my mrs reckons its a smart investment.

I also love a day on a plane drinking nice wines and eating great food and the networking in the lounges also has its benefits.

One must fully utilize a DSC when you get one, because you never know when you will get your next one.

Goose76 I am thinking your partner is ready for travelling. A DSC with a honeymoon is a very nice touch.
