For instance, if I book CBR-(SYD)-OOL , does the SYD-OOL also acrue double SC's or only bookings that are directly SYD-OOL.

Thoughts?
The SYD-OOL flight would qualify for double SCs.

Hi All,

That is correct. For members selected for this promotion, only the segment SYD-OOL or OOL-SYD will earn double Status credits*. Any connecting flights (domestic or international) will earn at the normal rate.

Thanks for the clarification RedRoo and for the input from the other members!

So doing some quick sums: I could book a JASA BNE-xSYD-OOL return on one day (or even overnight in SYD if I so chose). The legs would earn:
BNE-SYD 40SC, 1250pts
SYD-OOL 80SC, 1250pts
OOL-SYD 80SC, 1250pts
SYD-BNE 40SC, 1250pts
This would cost $539 for 240SC (ie $2.25/SC) and 27,000pts (32k - 5k earned). Seems reasonable value I believe (pretty good for Australia anyway). Tempting ...

As usual the one in need of SC's is me for retain WP. Mrs GPH got the offer but doesn't need them.

FYI for those that have received the offer; $85 fares on sale for SYD - OOL for Jan to March 2013.

After you have confirmed through the email link that you want to take up the double SC offer, is there a way of telling whether or not it's been activated? Do you receive a confirmtion email? Can you check online or by calling QF?

No need to call.
If you were targeted and clicked on the registration link you are now registered for the promotion.
Allow up to 6 weeks after travel for the bonus SCs to credit to your account and if there are any troubles, please give us a call.

This link will not work if the email is forwarded on to another member who was not targeted.

Just to be sure, I would print the page that confirms activation or take a screenshot. You probably won't need it but it may come in handy.

I got it. Made PS for the first time in April, based in MEL. Only taken 2 QF flights since my year reset on 1 May.

I've booked this:

MEL-CBR 40SC (16,000 pts and $102)
CBR-SYD 40SC (32,000 pts and $257, for CBR-OOL return)
SYD-OOL 80SC
OOL-SYD 80SC
SYD-CBR 40SC
CBR-MEL 40SC (16,000 pts and $102)

So that's $461 for 320SC (i.e. $1.44/SC) and 56,000 pts (64k - 7.5k earned). The MEL-CBR and vv flights aren't very good value, but they bring the total to 320SCs, which was what I needed for WP renewal.

BTW, this is all in one day; a productive way to spend my Melbourne Cup Day holiday, I think! :)

All very nice, except another tactical blunder by Qantas.
The first flights are Jetstar
First qtass is 8.30 am into syd 11
The queue in the virgin premium lounge is longer and longer mons tues and weds am.
Queue conversation amongst the regs was what is qantas on?
We all have our gold status and cant and wont use it because no 6am or 7am flights
