Double SC Promo [December 2010]

By the sounds of it , is it only for a select few QFF members or all get to take advantage.

I don't think it has anything to do with the FF program from a Qantas business perspective...

More likely, it sounds like Qantas are just trying to bolster their profits during the slow business travel period (December-January) by ensuring that some members will book flights during this time.

Do I sound a little bitter and cynical? If so, that's probably just because I didn't receive the email. Sob.

Thankyou for your quick responce.

I'm sorry to sound like an idiot, but

What is JASA?

I have been chasing a personal goal of 1 million points.
I know this probally sounds stupid:confused:, but sometime in my life l want to own a million of something or other:D and this is the closest l will get.

I almost came close until QF stoped the Amex transfers.
Now l have 246,000 amex points that are stuck and slowly growing and l have 181,000 points with BMI which my parents transfered to me because they never want to leave our shores again (thanks mum and dad;))
Mind you l have never flown them in my life and only signed up so they could transfer the points.

Maybe you are right and l should just use some for something.

My QF points earnings come mainly from a bi-annual Aone (l think l got that right)
and 3 odd dom J trips a year.

Double SC Promo

I did not receive the email, not a huge bother as next international trip already booked, it would have helped towards LTS. Interesting to know if any recipients had last years double SC promo?

I so want to get that offer , I am desperate have 3 trips planned in that period , all international and also looking forward to book at least 2 weekends domestic all in J.

Please Red Roo if you are reading this send me that email.:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

:shock::shock:

No this is the first time for anything for me from QF,

Mind you l have not flown with them in the past 6 months which is unusual for me.

Just thinking about the international flight restriction...presumably this means flights classified as international services. According to the FF T&Cs this is QF1-399...so domestic legs of international services might be eligible...(e.g. QF20 BNE-SYD).

Views??

Nothing in my inbox.

Can't complain, l got the double SC promo earlier this year and got WP with lots of help from this site. It's a treasure trove of info!

What is JASA?

Don't worry mate, I only figured it out myself yesterday!

J (Business) ASA (Any Seat Award).

They are expensive though, 400K points each way BNE->HKG, although I found some dates in Feb for 75K points on the outbound leg.

I received the offer and was already planning on travelling Jan through March. I'm glad I didn't book early! :)

Yes, and QF have finally shown me some love (N.B. that means that I didn't get the previous double status credit promo). Next thing you know I'll get an op-up.

Shame that I booked my international trip in the last 2 weeks, that commences in the period but the return leg is after the end of the period. SWMBO did tell me to wait longer before booking - I should have obeyed!

Now is it worth paying $200 to cancel a Flight centre for an extra 30SC? :D I'd also lose that upgraded domestic leg of the booking as well so perhaps not.....

Seriously, I think this will be my only offer like this for a long time or even ever so I really feel that I should use it. Maybe a cheap Y to AKL or NAD. Might be worth trying QF81/82 or 20. Saving points for an entry into an international upgrade lottery. decisions, decisions

They don't have to be expensive. The trick is to search and find the cheap ones. One tactic is to search for J classic awards and then book as JASA.

I spoke to soon.

Got the promo just then.

Thanks QF!

If you do a NAN J Run, do the BNE-MEL-SYD sectors count? Or, just the SYD-NAN vv sectors?

I assume just the international sectors as the others legs are domestic flights.

That's the thing, there are some exceedingly cheap JASA's around. Have a dig around AFF and you'll find a wealth of information on the best value JASA's for SC's :)
