Head off for my first double SC trip tomorrow (BNE/MEL/BNE) so hoping to see 60 SC's post by Monday next week. Will report back

As expected, they have posted this morning. They were Saver fares, so 15SC's each way.

Would have been better to have a commentary or even better, separate lines showing the bonus SC's (particularly for those less knowledgeable on the SC's)....but hope that's the biggest problem I have to face ;)...

No love for me - seems they're only honouring it for flights booked during the period, not if you book a flight during the promo period - it did seem to imply that you only need to book a flight during the period for all flights to be eligible for double.
With flights I have booked currently I'll need 30SC before Aug 28 to hit gold, as looks like the flight I have to GC might have the meeting I was to be up there for cancelled.

Unfortunately your reading of the T&C's is quite different to mine (red bolding mine):

Terms and Conditions
*This offer is only available to the member who has received an email promoting the offer from Velocity and is not available to any other members. To be eligible for the bonus Status Credits promotion, you must activate this offer online between 12.01am AEST 31 March 2016 until 11.59pm AEST 14 April 2016 inclusive (‘Promotion Period’). You must ensure that you have activated the offer prior to travel to receive double Status Credits. During the Promotion Period you must also book an eligible flight and enter your Velocity membership number, which must match the number identified in this communication. Eligible flights are flights for travel between 1 April 2016 and 30 June 2016 inclusive, that are marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and booked in a fare class that is eligible for Status Credits accrual . Codeshare flights marketed or operated by Velocity’s other partner airlines are excluded from this offer. Velocity Reward Seat bookings are also excluded. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class and any upgrades will not attract additional Status Credits. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus Status Credits offer by Velocity Frequent Flyer and/or Virgin Australia. For multiple guests listed on the same booking, only Velocity members who have received and activated this offer will be eligible to earn bonus Status Credits. Normal Velocity rules apply to retrospective claims which must be raised within 6 months from the date of flight.

If you had a pre-existing booking that was booked prior to the offer being made and accepted, then there appears to be no wriggle room. Some people did look at the value of cancelling and putting the credit in a Travel Bank account, then doing a new booking (o the cost was the cancellation fee + their time) with the benefit being accessing the promo offer for Double SC's.

Doesn't sound like you need to do much to attain Gold - so you have no SC's falling off before August 28...

I got this a few weeks ago when I was about 20 SC off upgrading to silver. Now only about 40 off gold so let's see if it comes around again.

I managed to book a SYD>PER>BNE>SYD weekend trip with minutes to spare before it expired so should be a good bump.

Yeah, that's not the way I read it.
1. "To be eligible for the bonus Status Credits promotion, you must activate this offer online between 12.01am AEST 31 March 2016 until 11.59pm AEST 14 April 2016 inclusive". Done.
2. You must ensure that you have activated the offer prior to travel to receive double Status Credits. Also done. Note it says prior to travel, not prior to booking. There's no ambiguity here.
3. During the Promotion Period you must also book an eligible flight and enter your Velocity membership number, which must match the number identified in this communication. Yup, also done. It quite clearly says here you must book an eligible flight - which I did. It was a different flight to the one that hasn't been given credits, but nothing in this statement says it has to be done for every flight, or that flights to be applied the extra credits have to be booked during the period.
4. Eligible flights are flights for travel between 1 April 2016 and 30 June 2016 inclusive, that are marketed and operated by Virgin Australia and booked in a fare class that is eligible for Status Credits accrual Also meets this criteria. The flights were traveled on between 1/4 and 30/6 - 17/4 and 25/4.

There is nothing whatsoever in this promotion that implies that existing bookings are not eligible to be covered under the offer. Had that been the case, I'd have left booking my MEL-OOL flight until closer to the date - as it now appears that meeting won't go ahead.
I think the T&Cs are quite clear, and existing bookings should have been awarded the extra SCs.

I read it the same as you originally, but the start of number 3 says "during the promotion period" which means that's when "you must book an eligible flight"

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The ambiguity here seems to arise from the order of points 2 and 3. If they were reversed, it would assist the interpretation, which I think they mean, that you first have to book a flight after registering and then make sure the offer has been activated prior to THAT travel.

While it is permissible to read it as akashra has I'll bet there is a TorC somewhere that says their interpretation prevails.

That's how I read it as well - "during the Promotion Period you must also book an eligible flight" which means not only that the date of the flight has to fall within the promotion period dates, but the booking itself has to be made within those dates i.e. 31 March to 14 April, as has been the case with the previous double SC offers I've seen (and used).

I don't recall whether there's ever been a double SC offer that included existing bookings - maybe one of the longer term Velocity members can advise?

I would be happy just to GET a double SC offer, the last one I received was around 2 years ago :(.

I definitely think the offer was worded to state "Book *any* flight and we'll allow *all* of your flights to qualify", not "Only flights you book during the period will qualify". Since they did not state a start period for when you had to book it, they could easily turn around and claim a flight wasn't booked within the period, therefore I expect the start period was open-ended.

Interesting that my return sector has posted before my outbound flight....I wonder if I'll have to contact them, as it's been more than 5 days  (which appears to be their service times at present):

Nothing posted today for my BNE/MEL or MEL/PER, so I opted for the Retro Claim - which strangely said I had already lodged the claims (ah, no I haven't  - but if your system did on my behalf, I'll accept).

Should happen in the next sweep on the weekend and I'll be 15 SC's away from Gold. I actually want to delay attaining it until July/August, so I have QF and VA at opposite times of the year. Nothing is about to drop off yet - although I'd better go and check!

Now to go back to my QF flights for June/July with their double SC's.

Keep an eye on it - a while back when there were a lot of problems getting points and SCs credited, several people (myself included) were receiving the "you've already lodged these claims" message when of course we hadn't! However nothing was coming through and on contacting Velocity on several occasions, they couldn't see any pending claims on the system. The problem was eventually fixed, but took some time and the whole situation was very frustrating.

Many thanks for the heads up Jurahn - that's interesting the issues have been around before and are back again.

After waiting a couple of days to see if the system automatically picked up my missing sectors, I rang the Customer Contact Centre and had a friendly MNL-based CSA assist me to add these to my account:
