I think I did use the link in your reply above. I just went to the QF site and clicked on the link there and registered again. Still no email. On the phone to them now!!

Good idea, as the FF service centre can very quickly check if you have registered for any current or previous promotions.

I registered for promotion a few days ago while I was overseas.

Booked some flights yesterday on the current special.

Checked email today and notice confirmation email arrived this morning at 10:55am. A little late?

Now to see if flights booked with gift vouchers will automatically post double points or whether I will need to follow up.

Confirmation emails did arrive eventually. Took a couple of hours which surprised me being an automated process. Maybe being swamped with people registering. :)

I am steeling myself for the eventual follow-up.

FWIW, I just registered and the confirmation email came through immediately. Just wondering how the marketing works - some people seem to get direct emails while others don't. Like Briar1078, I didn't and wouldn't have know about this except for the posts here on AFF. Since I'm booking 2 international trips in the next week, can I say BIG THANKS to deejo77. A bit bummed that I missed out on the recent 50% SC offer, but didn't have any bookings to make at that time. These really short offer times can be a bugger........

I could so use a DSC offer right now, (apart from the Aquire one).
Need to book either a J WLG - SYD - ADL or at least a comfort seat booking request by phone, for the 21Apr16, so that double QFF points offer will still help me build up my balance, won't help keep status as quickly of course.

Is this truely double points? I thought it is only double the base rate. Ie not double your status bonus or cabin bonus.

Have you ticked the box on your Qantas profile to receive marketing etc ???

that's an important one to know. I read the T & C's and not sure maybe redRoo can clarify. Seems a jolly good offer to me though even without any SC bonuses

Definitely not double status bonus per terms and conditions.

It should be double points based on the base rate (including minimum point guarantee) not including status bonus.

Bonus Qantas Points are based on the Base Rate which applies, or the Minimum Points Guarantee if applicable and for the purposes of this promotion, does not include any Status Bonus that may apply for tier members. This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other bonus offer by Qantas.
So for short domestic I would expect to receive 1,600 QFF points instead of the usual 800 QFF points. For international where one earns 2,600 QFF points + 2,600 Platinum bonus you would expect to earn 5,200 QFF points + 2,600 Platinum bonus.

Still not too bad an offer. Wish I had some international travel to book.

Interesting that it mentions this offer cannot be used with any other bonus offer. Yes I know it mentions bonus points specifically but 50% more SCs is still a bonus offer.

I plan to go on a holiday at some point this year, but haven't decided where, when or who with.

Guess I'll have to fast-track that process to take advantage of this - I was thinking about heading to the States again...54,000 points for MEL-LAX return is too good to ignore.

EDIT: MEL-LON 74,400 points even harder to ignore...

I didn't think there was such a things as a Cabin Bonus on Qantas flights anymore....It's all been incorporated into a simpler and fairer system....

Must remember to keep the BP and probably make a claim, if the double points don't post.
Clicked the link above, provided email address, and acknowledged the email from QF FF, and just made a QF booking, WLG - SYD - ADL in J, earning me about 58xx points, with double points would have been 10k approximately.
Though, I made the booking on the QF NZ website, wonder if that will work.

Sheeeeet!
I made a paid F booking SYD-DFW-SYD just days before I knew of this.
