I flew with Scandinavian Airlines and wanted to credit the flight to United.
However, turns out I flew with SAS Ireland (although it said SAS on my boarding pass).

United has (rightly so) refused to credit the miles.
Just thought I would mention it as a reminder to always check who is actually operating the flight before crediting miles to a program.

I have managed to retrocredit the miles to the SAS Eurobonus program.

Will keep this in mind as I am now crediting all my *A flights to United.

What was the route? Did you know at the time of booking the flight would be operated by SAS Ireland?

The route was MMX (Malmo, Sweden) to AGP (Málaga, Spain).

Looking at now afterwards it did say SAS Ireland, but I didn't notice it at the time of booking.
Just took for granted that it would be SAS.

Quite pathetic really. SAS Ireland only exists to operate flights for SAS using cheaper cost structure. It doesn’t sell flights in its own right. Should be just like United Express.

yes, that's exactly how I feel.
Well, at least I was able to credit the flight to SAS altough I had United written in my boarding pass.
That was a surprise to me.

It's a bit like trying to book a VA flight using Etihad miles, to be told "oh you can't book this because it's a codeshare operated by VA SE Asia".
