Re: Don't be caught by QF downgrading [Status Change] mid-flight[Journey - less lugga

Any customer-focussed business would have seen this as the best (dare I say "simpler, fairer") way to resolve the situation. Result - one happy customer, still rusted on with QF, who might have even posted a complimentary message on AFF !

Instead ? Yet another pax now avoiding QF.

Not an appropriate site for me - some people are constructive and are thanked but far too many people seem to see it as a competition or a desire to support an unsatisfactory airline (or one of their bad procedures) at all costs (for whatever their reasons – hi, Tim). And some are effectively just flamers who have absolutely no idea of the incorrect assumptions they make in formulating their replies, assuming that their lives and flying habits (booking for staff, clients and self but only getting own points), reasons for flying (business), motivations and need to complain (repeatedly disrupted business and resulting losses), and reason for being low on points in a particular year (no Qantas flights, regularly using up huge numbers of points before Qantas do an Ansett) are the same as their own and is not being a good customer. Get a life!

So I'm off from this site like a shot and won’t be back - and yes, only a Qantas flier 48 years and a frequent flyer for 22 years still flying scores of airlines in 40 countries, making bookings for staff (who get the credits) and clients as well as myself and immediate family losing status for myself some years because using up so many accrued points and because Qantas so rarely has flights or partners in places I need.

Not previously aware of this issue despite the time flying because I invariably connect with small airlines and charter flights, or don’t know if I will, but finally did otherwise. I had hoped it might help others.

Thanks again to the constructive people.

Timster just read the highlighted part of the OP's last post.Maybe QF had enough of the complaints.I remind you of an experience of mine with AA when I got an upgrade as a plat before an EXP-the gate agent said every time he contacts us it is a complaint. You were always going to get the upgrade.
Also appears he speed reads not even noticing the "remember me"when logging in.

Doesn't like to be contradicted either.Obviously a Very Important Person.

I think there is legal practice (what is in the T&C) and best practice and sometimes the two are poles apart.

I can understand the OP's angst when midstream of a trip his allowance changed. But agree it's "allowed". Just as lounge access might change. But a regular on this forum might plan for that or ask. But most travellers aren't members here.

It would be annoying but not something I'd change airlines for.
