Greetings!

I've been looking at some different options re RTW with OneWorld. My preferred option is a DONE3 commencing from Japan. Looking at the prices it would appear to be quite a few $thousands cheaper by booking from Japan. From different advice in these forums it appears as though booking via AA would be the best option. I am planning to use points to fly to/from NRT with QF and then purchase a DONE3 from there.

My route I have worked out at this stage is:-

NRT-PEK-HKG-LHR-DUB-BUD-IST-LHR-IAD-DFW-YVR-JFK-MIA-MEX-ORD-NRT

I ran this through the Oneworld Planner and I don't get any errors.

If anyone has any suggestions it would be appreciated.

Regards,

Clint.

I don't think there's a LHR-DUB service ever since EI ceased being a member of OW. BA flies to DUB from LGW. LHR//LGW might be counted as a surface segment as it is technically a surface segment as far as the ticketing system goes. But as you've well below the limit of 20 you should be right either way. Leave plenty of time for the coach journey over to LGW if you're just connecting though.

edited to add: And welcome to AFF! :D

Hi Clint,

Welcome to AFF! Great idea for the DONE3.

Itinerary looks pretty good, I think you have the NA transcons sorted but do note that there is only 1 direct AA MEX-ORD flight per week on a Sunday so that could limit your options.

Initially, I thought DUB to BUD may have been a bit keen and Mileage Monkey doesn't like it but Malev is a great pickup. Some of the other regular technical gurus may see something but it appears fine.

Cheers,

Given you have 4 segs remaining do you have the opportunity for a mileage run in Asiaa? You have 2 more flights there that you could take - say HKG-BOM ;)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
