No Upgrade Seat Available - Domestic?

HI All

Last couple of flights i have tried to upgrade for my brother and sister come up with the no upgrade seat available, try again later. Has somehting changed, why isnt it wait listing them / is there a problem on the website maybe?

Also, one flight in Question QF613 18th December, BNE-MEL, on EF it shows 5 U class , shouldnt this have automatically confirmed ? Or am i missing something here?

Happened to me as well this week trying to upgrade PER-MEL, then called QF and they did it over the phone in less then 2 minutes.

This topic came up recently and it was found that people were requesting the upgrade immediately they'd created the booking ie on end transaction & it wasn't working because the booking was unticketed at that moment.

What you need to do is make the booking, then wait until you receive your eticket itinerary/receipt (won't take long) which means the booking has been ticketed, then do you upgrade request.

The flight mentioned had been ticketed when trying, also got the same error for flights booked 3 months prior to putting the upgrade on, just seems strange, ill give a call. Is this maybe since the new website another glitch?

I've just had the same problem as described above - tried to upgrade two different (both ticketed) bookings and got the same message. I'll try again in the morning then give them a call if no joy.

I am also now seeing this problem.

I had to call up to upgrade the dom sector of CHC-SYD-BNE last week, having successfully done it online the week before. I was told by the CSR that it was the international leg that was preventing the upgrade processing. Took some time on the phone to sorted.

Today, just tried to upgrade BNE-SYD and it wouldn't do it. Called up and CSR sorted it for me quickly and also mentioned there was a problem with doing it online at the moment.

In both cases, I had confirmed Classic Award availability before calling up so knew there shouldn't be a reason why the upgrade should fail.

No upgrade seat is available at this time.

I thought we're supposed to be able to waitlist for upgrades also - so it certainly seems like something is a bit screwy with the upgrade system.

I was seeing this problem over many weeks for various bookings, so eventually called QANTAS and the upgrade was fixed over the phone. A few people have noted the same issue, and it would appear that while aware of the issue QANTAS seem to not want to do anything about it.

I guess all these problems are keeping the CSRs in jobs!
 
I had the same problem... phoned up the FF line and they sorted it out in under a minute.
 
I had the same deal for my PER-SYD & SYD-PER called up and got upgraded for both flights (in Jan)
 
Had the same PER-MEL, Tried again about an hour later and got the upgrade. No such luck on the return. 737's C to C on a Saturday are an abomination.

QF AND VA operate 737s on SAT/SUN C to C ...'abomination' all around you!! :shock:

How recently you talking? I was able to get a dom upgrade last month. That was of course after the website said could not be upgraded at this time and then waitlisted me for the upgrade (which came through at T-24)
 
Tried again to upgrade a couple of dom legs online today. Issue still present - a quick phone call to the Plat line and 3 legs confirmed for upgrades in a couple of minutes. Must be getting annoying for the poor CSA's though - the nice angel I had said it was the 6th request from somebody this morning.

VA don't typically to MEL/SYD, just BNE. Although it appears though XFA or B are out atm, and the MEL-PER flights for Saturdays in December are 2 x 330 and 2 x 737, which is terrible (and bad timing over Christmas I would have thought).
 
Still an issue for me.

I just called and had it done over the phone in less than a minute.
