I've just been onto a few websites looking to get annual domestic travel just to cover things like hire car excess and if I lose anything and can't seem to find anyone offering it. Does anyone have any experience of getting this and any suggestions on brokers or similar who might be able to offer something?

From the various emails I've seen filtering through my inbox, of the majors I know CGU still is and it can be purchased directly from their website.

No coverage for anything connected in any, way, shape or form to 'Rona as you'd expect.

I don't recall seeing anything from Allianz (although I don't think we've ever used them to be honest), NIB (ex QBE) is not and nor is TravelCard.

Corporate Travel is still generally available also.

And that is WHY I will NEVER do domestic travel - not at all. I could be stranded or extorted - and punished for prior planning. Travel insurance hassles or not there - no thanks. I imagine a lot of businesses will go under with the one year visitor drought, including loss of Xmas/NY silly season. May I mention like loss of memory, goodwill, 'do it again on spur of moment' and fear of being left high and dry - mean the hospitality industry will be burnt, moreso for travel insurance class of people. And just one or two insurance sellers means higher prices/less coverage. I doubt Morrison will tell insurance companies to assist in the recovery.

Just bumping this up - I see a few have started offering domestic insurance - I'm more interested in loss of stuff in car etc and for a couple of hundred dollars for an annual travel policy I think it's well worth it

Australia Post has a domestic travel insurance policy which is available in single-trip and annual versions: Annual Multi-Trip Travel Insurance

The website is not the most user friendly I've come across however, I did manage to get it to give me a quote.

Interestingly, the quote for an annual multi-trip policy was less than the price for a single trip of the same length.
