Domestic to International transfer time in BKK

Trying to figure whether or not I'll have enough time to make the following domestic to international transfer in Bangkok. I'm considering a domestic flight (PG278) arriving in BKK from HKT at 8:40pm, and then I have an (already booked) international flight (RJ182) departing BKK at 12:20am.

From what I understand, I will need to collect my baggage, check out, and then check back in at the international terminal. Is ~3 hours and 40 minutes sufficient time for this transfer? Or should I consider an earlier domestic flight. FWIW, the international flight is in J which means I should (?) have priority check-in which may speed up the process.

Any help is appreciated- thanks !

No problem, you'll have time, although security & immigration for international departures is at a peak late evening for all the longhaul flights leaving after midnight.

That being said, the new security and immigration hall at the western end of the departures level (Floor 4) has reopened recently after some upgrades, which from recent feedback has improved processing times

Say a 2040 PG arrival to concourse A gates. 2050 to baggage hall, 20 minutes to get bags, upstairs for check in and Level 4 by 2120-2130 checked in by 2200 (if that for RJ, probably less time)

Through security then immigration anywhere from 30-45 minutes

I think you have plenty of time

Plenty of time but....

There have been lots of cancellations (note most are merging of services) from AirAsia and Nok Air recently. I'm not sure what Bangkok Airways have doing.

We will have similar dilemma In October. SQ departs from BKK at 6:30pm and we'll try to get to BKK from CNX around 12:00noon. Can't really risk any later connections.
