Otehr than price, whats the difference between a "B" fare and a "Y" fare when flying domestically with Qantas? their fare guides don't mention "B" at all.

On most (all) routes these days domestically, there does not seem to be a BISOX fare offered. The BISOX was a weird fare, priced between HOX and Y , however unlike the HOX/Y fares it was an instant purchase fare and did not allow waitlisting. No good reason to buy it and, iirc, was not offered on the website

My company uses B class on QF Dom. I believe it is now used for corp discounts only and not a published fare as such .Its part of the agreement we have with the Roo to give them a certain amount of our business

I believe that QF still offers domestic B fares as special corporate deals. These are not published fares and cannot be purchased on-line or through a normal TA. The fares book into B fare bucket and often have a fare basis such as Bxyz where xyz represents the company with the special corporate deal from Qantas.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

How come NM knows so much? :D He is right as usual!! My recent Y fare fr Syd to Bne was booked as BPTNSW03 which gave a 30% discount cf to the full Y fare.

Ahh so where do I find that booking reference? I know I'm Y on the outward, and B on the inward..

Most of my recent domestic flights have beeoked into a private fare 'B' class. It is my understanding that the actual conditions attached to the fare vary depending on the agreement between the company and Qantas. For example, while my fares are refundable, I know others in other companies that have fares that only generate credits if they need to cancel.
