Hi All,

Have a QR F flight coming up from DOH, was reading on their site that in the premium terminal for First customers only there are "Privacy rooms" available, with a bed etc inside.
Does anyone have any experience whether a) Do they need to be prebooked? b) Are there many rooms available? c) What is the maximum time you can occupy the room? and any other helpful information/past experience you may have.

Premium Terminal | Qatar Airways

Update: there were 5 privacy rooms in total and had no problem getting one at midnight.
2 single beds, a lamp, 2 bottles of water, dried apricots and coat stand. Slept for 4.5 hours.

However requested wakeup at 4:30am never happened lucky I had my alarm on! :)

Any feedback on QR F lounge and inflight service/seat/food ?
Where did you fly to ? I didn't think QR currently flew to many destinations besides possibly LHR and elsewhere in the middle east ?

QR fly to virtually all of the major hubs in Europe, Asia and Africa and seem to be superior option for OW award flights.

It was very good, inflight service was flawless if not a little robotic but not in a bad way, food was impeccable and filling even on the shorter flights.

Their 787 business product was quite possibly the best J/F I have used I would say on par with CX's new J class. CX only slightly ahead as their seats were more plush/soft otherwise QR 787 J wins.

Only 3 complaints about QR, 1 is about the whole F lounge access thing in doh my flights were ktm-doh in J connecting to doh-dxb in F which for me into the F lounge as my next flight was in F. Had a week holiday in dxb then flew dxb-doh in F connecting to 787 J doh-del .

Upon arrival to the premium terminal was denied access to the F lounge this time despite just coming from an F flight and being a OWE because I was connecting to J.
I know this is their policy but it's stupid and depending what route/direction you fly you have to keep alternating lounges (the routes I flew J on did not have F cabins)..
So from a consistency point of view this is not good.

2nd issue is lack of recognition and lack of OWE recognition. Never once was I or anyone in any of the flights referred to by our names just sir.Etc.
Also no special welcomes for OWE or anyone. No big deal but when they're meant to be the 'world's 5 star airline ' you expect they would at least greet you properly like qf/cx so.
Last issue or rather observation was landing in doh off an QR F flight as a OWE there was a luxury bus to take us to the terminal and a few BMW limousines for a few people to goto the terminal. What more does one have to do to get a limo transfer!! I am OWE in fully paid F!! Again no big deal as the luxury buses were good but from a product consistency and elite recognition perspective not consistent.

I'll post a proper review with pics once I have computer access again.

Thanks for your feedback, I appreciate that.
Good to know that the 787 J is as good as it looks !

No problems!!

Few more things I forgot to mention, the first and business lounges are almost identical except for the spa and privacy rooms in first.
The spa is hugely expensive 30 mins massage 700QAR which is about $200aud. No wonder why the spa never had any customers whilst I was there.

The only big winner for me was the privacy rooms which are free and first in best dressed.

In my experience the limousines are almost always used for VIP personnel. I was once on a flight with Qatari government officials and they had a BMW 7 series (one each) when they stepped off the plane. I had to take the luxury bus :(

I guess this will all change quite a bit when QR transition to the new airport in Doha at the end of May where there will be all new lounges and air-bridges.
