Does your luggage get treated better on prem/biz/First?

In my 2 or 3 first class trips. My luggage definitely came out first. In the first batch at least (did i just get lucky?)

Not travelled F, but in J (depending on destination airport) no guarantee your luggage will be treated any better than all the rest. Even with airline priority labels prominently displayed, in Switzerland and Vietnam and Vancouver was actually last bag on the carousel. In other airports came out randomly from early to very late.

In my experience - Asian airlines are the only ones who manage to get priority bags off first - of course, only when arriving in their home port. SQ gets first prize for this.

QF and VA bag delivery is totally random.

2 bags checked-in together are almost never delivered together (or even close to each other)

Yes. I've seen all the first bags come out together and last numerous times. But sometimes they are at the front.

Some airlines have a priority line for F/J bag problems, and offer different ‘emergency’ compensation depending on your class. For example when my bags were delayed on SWISS it was CHF350 for F, 250 for J and 125 for Y per 24 hour delay to cover essentials.

Never had any issues with bags coming first/early in J, but they're still loaded and unloaded by the same indifferent baggage handlers, and subject to the same in-flight rattling about. That said I've only ever had two bags damaged in 20 years, and neither was catastrophic. One Y on QLink (Dash 8 between CBR-BNE) that looked like an elephant sat on it, one SQ J SIN-SYD that definitely sat in the rain a bit long.

I've always considered that the baggage carousel is "the Great Equaliser" when it comes to Economy vs. Premium air travel. No matter where you're sitting in the plane everyone at the baggage carousel is treated equally when it comes to when and how your bag will be returned back to you.

A cynic would think a bag with a fancy tag gets treated with more indifference than one with no tag!!!

I was only thinking yesterday when I arrived back in OZ after 6flts over 8 days that airlines across the world have now lost all comprehension of what ‘PRIORITY’ does or should mean

It seems to be a bit airport dependent but I've certainly not noticed any great priority given to checked luggage with a priority tag - often many bags out before and not just domestic connecting bags or whatever that were loaded at the last minute.

The ground staff don't really care and honestly - what can you do about it? Complain if/when the post flight survey comes which never really changes anything. Its curious though than in an era where there's continued erosion of benefits for loyalty and status (which is being made harder to attain and maintain at the same time), that there isn't more of a focus on ensuring those who do hold status get to enjoy the "perks", but maybe that's just me

Yes I agree - Often QF and VA Y Bags come out befor C bags - I think it is more to do with how plane is loaded The only time my bags come out First delivered to me are Lufthansa /First JFK and FRA with Personal Assistant

I mostly fly with Asian airlines, they do generally come out first.
One time with Iberia though, dead last - and not just me, I saw the last few people hovering around, and they are the same ones sitting around me in J...."F you especially" seems to be the message...
