Does VFF have any lifetime Status awards to aim at?

I must have been a Virgin Plat for 10 years or so. Partner ditto.

Qantas have well-defined Lifetime status targets for Lifetime Gold and Plat etc. Most airlines do.

I cannot recall ever seeing any Virgin equivalent - is there?

I got Lifetime Star Alliance Gold for me and a partner many years back for flying 1.5 or 2 million real paid miles or whatever the bar was.

Such carrots give flyers something to work towards, but not sure if Virgin has any?

Seems a WIN-WIN for both flyers and airlines, if such plans are in place and clearly outlined.

Not too late to set up something along these lines surely?

In today's uncertainly ANYTHING to retain loyalty needs to be looked at.

Not that I’m aware of. We are in a similar boat with both being Platinums for many years.

Just takes someone with savvy to formulate the plateaus needed and add to website.

Virgin will have it all on file I am sure, and cannot see if one asks, if they would mind sharing it?

Right now whether it is 5,000 or 10,000 etc, it is pretty meaningless to know!

Dangling a carrot to someone on 4300, that 5000 SC gets lifetime Gold etc, will CREATE revenue for Virgin in many cases. Now more than ever, that should be their goal.

LOTS of Elites took up the Qantas Instant Gold status match recently etc, and might focus their energies on spending money with QF going forward if no carrots are dangling at Virgin to stay there spending money.

Try lack of flights. VA not flying to NZ is a deal-breaker for me, I'd typically bounce between AU and NZ a few times a month with most flying on VA (and the rest on NZ). I haven't flown QF across the Tasman for about 5 years but that will change in a couple of weeks.

QF isn't handing out Gold, they're handing out 90 days of QF Club membership and during that time you need to get 100 status credits to get Gold for a year. I've taken up the match and am seriously looking at how to retain QF gold beyond that.

Well with the current QF double SC offer getting SC in just 3 months is truly child's play.

Many will take them up on it. Only loser there is Virgin.

VFF are asleep at the wheel for not dangling some kind of lifetime Elite aspirational carrot to try and retain those sitting on the fence.

Drug dealers are famous for giving free tastes to get folks hooked. It VERY often works - sadly.
