Quick question for the domestic frequent flyers - I know that Virgin regularly disembark both front and rear doors but does QF / Qantas domestic flights do the same in Sydney or do they just disembark from front doors only?

Using the rear doors seems to be a VA only thing. I've never experienced it on QF anywhere.

QF use it at ADL (737-800 with air-bridge also in use) and maybe elsewhere?

Qantas do it on quite a lot of flights. For example in MEL (weather permitting), they can do it on about 7 of their gates, same with BNE, SYD and ADL.

Sydney has a couple of gates (at least) where they can do it.

Qantas seem to do a bit of boarding from the rear, a bit less of disembarking in my experience.

They were trying it in major ports as part of a project to reduce turn times, but haven't heard much of it recently

They did it SYD on a recent flight ex BNE but can't remember which gate in SYD we arrived at.

QF do it, but it's gate / airport / aircraft / weather variable.

So the standard QF "consistency"....
