Do QP's Stay Open for all JQ flights?

Hi All,

I'm finally getting around to using my QP for the first time, I'm flying out on a JQ flight - do QP's stay open for the JQ flights? I know that if you fly JQ you can go into QP but here at HBA the final QF flight for the day is 1650 and I'm leaving at 1920 - will they stay open for it?

The QF site says opening hours are 0515-last flight - but would that be the last QF flight or the last flight of the day? I don't want to head to the airport too early if QP's not open, HBA's not exactly the most exciting airport in Australia (the plane spotting extends as far as 737s/A320's and the occasional Cessna!)

Not sure as far as HBA, but I was recently flying out on a late evening flight from ADL-OOL on JQ and found the ADL QP closed after the last QF flight which was around 45 mins prior to this JQ flight, so i'd say if thats any indication you might find it'll be closed.

My experience is with DRW, and they certainly don't keep the QP open for JQ flights.

In Melbourne last week I was departing on a delayed JQ flight and the lounge stayed open until a bit before our departure time. There were only 3 of us left in the lounge (all on the JQ flight). They gave us a boarding call about 15 minutes earlier than actual boarding time and then made the lounge closed announcement. I was pleased the lounge had been left open as late as it had, the rest of the airport seemed to be shut down as we walked to the departure gate.

Was kicked out of the ADL QP last Sunday after the last QF flight (to Perth) had boarded, an 1hr before my JQ departure.

The gent in the lounge walked around talking to patrons one at a time, asked if I was travelling JQ, and then said they only stay open until the last QF flight has departed, and I had about 5 minutes to finish my drink before they closed. Everybody took it pretty well - until getting out of the lounge to find the JQ flight 1hr late!

I asked this same Q a few years back, and the answer was "YES"...not sure if things have changed in recent times:

I just spoke with HBA QP - they stay open until 7pm which is 20mins before the final JQ flight out for the evening. So good news for me, means I can start getting some value out of the membership!

Intersting. I did the wee hours of the morning JQ transit in DRW thing in January. The QP was open for the early QF flights, but closed after they left.

Mine was, I believe JQ677 DRW-MEL. Current schedule is an 0155 departure but I'm not sure if the time is the same.

The SYD T2 Qantas Lounge stays open until the last JQ flight at ~9:00pm. Very handy for a Platinum travelling on the 9:00pm DJ flight....
