Do most Airlines release "Early Bird Speicials" flights in October/November each year

Hi Guys.

Have been hearing that most airlines with be releasing Early Bird Specials ( discounted airfares ) sometime during October/November period. I have been told this happens every year... Just wondering if that is correct as I am trying to hold off for a discounted fare to Europe/Venice...Have been told that Emirates also do this...... Is this correct and should I wait a while to book??????
