Hi everyone,

I am looking to travel to the US in the middle of next year and have enough MP thingys to get over in economy, but I was hoping to splurge to business, which I have to buy another close to 40 000 points.

The issue at the moment is that there are no flights available on the day that is best for me to go and the only option in business class is to go almost a week earlier, which I probably can't do (annoyingly there were flights available when I looked a while back). Flights back are not an issue.

Is it likely that more business seats will open up or is it economy all the way?

Thanks!

Should I just grab a business seat now and hopefully something else becomes available later and I can change then?

Or just get my economy seat and be done with?

Good idea, one I looked at ages ago actually.

So just looked again now. From UA.au, the cheapest eligible flight would be about $4K plus points. Could wait for some kind of sale. Still not that cheap, compared to the other options.
