I'm looking to book a one-way trip in Y from SYD to PHL in late July or early August using Velocity points. VA shows reward availability for the SYD-LAX leg, but once you search for the whole SYD-PHL itinerary there's no reward seats available at all, only fairly expensive ASAs. DL shows plenty of availability for SkyMiles members LAX-PHL, but - as usual, apparently - that inventory isn't available through the VA website. So, some possibly stupid questions:
1) Am I going to have any more joy if I give VA a call, or is the problem just that DL isn't giving them any inventory at all?
2) Should I expect DL to release any seats to VA as we get closer to the date, or should I just abandon hope now and look into other options?
