Disgusting treatment of facilities by J PAX in Melbourne

Today, wife and I went into QF Business lounge prior to our 1515 boarding for 444 to SYD.

We went over to a free table near the window, dumped our luggage and headed for a drink. I was disgusted at the way one of the seating areas had been left by people who had just vacated - anyone following me on twit would know my explicits expressed would cost me another holiday on AFF if used here.

I cannot believe people can be absolute PIGS and on top of this, many of the litter items looked like the sticky bits from bandaids!

Totally unacceptable in my opinion.

The lounge cleaner came by and cleaned down the table, and as we were leaving, there were cleaners entering who headed in the general direction.

I would make a brash statement that this mess would not have been made by a OWE guest - I would hazard to say this is a points J or similar flyer - a OWE would respect the inner sanctum. IMHO this is as good an excuse needed to make this an OWE lounge only :|

Or perhaps it was someone who used a double SC promotion to get OWE, or a FIFO flyer, or a platinum one suit who flies 5,000SCs a year..... A bit of a generalisation IMHO.

This reminds me of the kitchen at work.

I often wonder what some people's sinks look like at home.

As they say it's the tragedy of the commons.

Personally I'd like the odd photo put up to shame people that do this sort of cough.

They have security cameras in there? Would be appropriate that the passengers identified and a letter sent I think. I'm always fairly tidy and bus my own plates to the trolley sometimes, so I don't understand why anyone would treat the area like that, but my first thought was kids (and bad parents).




Oh I'm sorry, I don't seem to remember them letting zoo animals into the domestic J lounges.

I don't care if people are flying business, and I don't care about the status they hold. Pax aren't dogs, they should behave accordingly.

Another possible explanation is that they neatly placed the rubbish on the table but knocked it off the table by accident when they left and didn't notice. Without seeing what actually happened you'll never really know.

You know how messy those crackers are? They break apart the moment you pick them up.
Wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have kids there.

I found the same last weekend in the QP in Melbourne. Maybe they don't have enough staff cleaning up or the ones they do have are lazy.

Yes that is true, as well as the reverse.......

Not to belittle the outrage and all, but thats nothing compared what I routinely see in foodcourts, aircraft, shopping malls and public parks. Is the outrage because of the mess of because the OP thought that the purchase of an airline ticket somehow guaranteed a better class of people? Modern society knows nothing about respecting the property of anyone except themselves.

People can't even treat the staff with a bit of common courtesy/respect so they won't treat the facilities with respect.

Like people who can't even say thank you to the attendants who take away your mess, I know it's their job but still a "thank you" isn't hard to say.

I have been in the J lounge in Sydney before and seen a group of well dressed guys clicking for an attendant to get them a drink!!! Pretty shocking.

Just plain bad manners.
