Well not good news, she wants him back, I think it was mostly the bf that was driving this, and she has decided that "she can't live without him", I can see her point, personally I'd get rid of the boyfriend and keep the cat!

We always knew that was a possibility but hoped it wouldn't happen.

That's sad - he would have enjoyed the extra space at your place to explore and certainly would have been king of the castle. There must be another wee puss out there waiting patiently for you.

Body heat?
What surprised me though was that Munn the Cat loved to sit on my lap but not on +1.

They often seem to have a preference. Didi wants to sit on me almost all the time. I just sit down and she is there.
However, she does like to sit and lie on the back of MrsRk's chair and play with her hair.
In the kitchen she balances on the 40mm wide arm of +1's chair.
In the bedroom she likes to sit on me.

Ironically about an hour after she phoned and said "I want him back", this arrived, we only ordered it on Wednesday.

I had one like that. His name was Dennis and his offsider was Max - this was late 70s and I'm sure there are a few that could work out who they were named after

OK, cat take 2, Bengal boy, Mac. He's gorgeous, only 9 months old, so it will be a learning experience.

Gorgeous is an understatement. Stunning more apt. For a bit of background information from you, these guys are notorious as house destroyers so how do people manage their wild instincts to climb and claw everywhere? About three years ago, our 6yo died and we were looking at breeds. A birman perhaps, a bengal was thought of but for the above reasons passed on, I made a call for a Maine Coon- I wonder whether they will be called that after the cheese fiasco - but the owner never picked up, so I finally have after a bit of searching and a little bit of politics( which i won't bore you with but it did make it into a state government inquiry and hence hansard through another person) a lort smith(cat and dog hospital in melbourne) pseudo himalayan mountain cat, who is called Winx as i made enough money with my biggest ever horse bet to cover her cost. Winx was racing her second cox plate i think and romped in, but the odds were poor so i had to put half a gorilla on her. Of course she won, and although the cat was originally named Dalfrey or something like that, Winx was going to be the new title after i went to the births death and change of name office. If i can find a pic, i will post. The more I look at this birman, he is immaculate. Please tell us all about his personality and excuse me if its in the last few postings. Havent had an email here for a while. Without doubt he is from a breeder and i am guessing his parents were show quality. In terms of value, would four figures ( a gorilla) be close or a couple of gorilla? Cheers.

I have a friend with two Maines - 2 girls and they are big lassies but gorgeous too.

Mayhaps depends on his behaviour…they can be trained but some are incorrigible with their claws

So far, so good, this one won't be going back! Have to start work on the cat run now.

We did some research a few years ago, so hopefully we can live with any problems. He is very active and not a lap cat at this stage, maybe he needs a feline companion! Also he is meant to have been desexed, if he was then they must have put in prosthetic ones, which can be done apparently.

Anyway, off to the vet on Monday to get all things sorted, chip details changed etc.

Only negative so far is that we can't go on our planned roadtrip, but that's a small price to pay.

My Bengal was a bit of a handful, but mostly pretty good. He possibly was half Bengal, I'm not sure. We took him in from someone who couldn't look after him, so no idea of his pedigree

He was very active, a little scratchy, but I got him sorted quick smart with a scratching post and my arm chair didn't sustain too much damage. His biggest issue was peeing where he shouldn't, but as we discovered later he had kidney issues. It was manageable. I'd at least got him to pee in the bathtub and not on the bathroom floor, so progress... I did catch him peeing in the toilet once! I also caught him drinking from the toilet too....

Bengals tend to be very vocal too. Lots of meowing.

I'd say they're very intelligent and trainable, so provided you can give them the right attention and wear them out with play, you'll be fine.

Cossie, if you ever need a cat sitter...
