Light plane "landed" with unextended landing gear (due to it failing to extend).


Update: Now being reported as Learjet that had undercarriage problems while taxiing for takeoff

The landing gears on a corporate jet collapsed during take-off at Perth Airport this morning.

An Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) spokesman confirmed eight people were on board the Cessna Citation when the incident happened about 6.30am.

Yes, the media usually pretty good at filling in the blanks with… whatever fills in the blanks!
Recently read a report about a "twin-engined Cessna" crash-landing near a school. Photos showed it was a poor little LSA…2nd engine must have fallen off before the crash!

They usually use the term " learjet" for all small business jet reports. Main reason is thats what everyone excluding aviation buffs thinks they are called. If they put cessna citation in the headline nobody would care, thinking it was another poxy single crash
