Diners and Paypal

How do people find Diners acceptance in Australia these days? I don't see the signs around much so not sure if people take it or not.
it's pretty limited to the big companies - chain petrol stations, grocery chains, large retail chains etc - you also have to keep an eye out on surcharges for Diners

I'm starting to wonder about Diners membership.

I have kept my membership mainly because of access to airport lounges overseas, but now????

I’ve been making some PayPal payments with Diners. From the looks of it on the app, I haven’t been charged the 3% currency fee so that’s a good start. I’ll know for sure when my statement issues.

I know that Diners, like it’s parent Citi don’t pay points on government transactions. Does using Diners get around that like it used to with Amex or are they already onto it?

I've been using my Diners a lot with PayPal and haven't been charged a currency fee like they used to, I use it wherever I can, but haven't been keeping a close eye on if there are transactions not giving points, too many to go through

I'll try to figure it out in the next 2 statement cycles and report back on my experience. I hope when NAB takes over that they will change this system - there's no reason why they can't credit points in real time and withhold them if our account falls into arrears (isn't that how Amex works?) rather than only credit them if we've made payment and then just give us a lump of points with no list that we can use to reconcile them. The technology is there. I hope NAB breathes some life into Diners. Some TLC will go some way to increasing acceptance and making it competitive. End Rant.
