Dilution of dom J lounge benefits (MEL)

Different beers too, I had a James Squire 150 Lashes on Friday.

Am told by reliable source that QF have changed beer suppliers to be exclusively Lion Nathan, CUB beers are off the menu on all aircraft and in all lounges. Enjoy that James Squire, as there will be no more Crownies (which is fine by me).

Given QF dont run the lounges anymore, I am not sure that will be the case.

Hooray! James Squire any day (miss the Fat Yak dispenser though)

I don't think Baileys ever disappeared - I'm consistently ordering it with a latte when in the Dom J lounges and never had an issue. I've always just asked and they have had it there.

It did disappear for a while - that was the point of the thread, but the good times have returned and it's back. Good to see QF have made a reverse enhancement

Interesting, today there was Heineken, Stella, Squire 150 Lashes, Boags Premium & Light, xx_X Gold, Hahn Super Dry and Pipsqueak Cider.
Looks like such a finding is consistent with LN beers:
AU Beer | Lion

If only they'd get the Hoegaarden ;)

FWIW, in HBA today they had: Heineken, Boags Premium, Cascade Premium, Hahn Premium Light, Pure Blonde Platinum and 5 Seeds.

I didn't think my comment was worth its own thread, mods move this post if you disagree.

First class service in the CBR J lounge today. That awkward time between lunch and dinner, a full meal is too much and a biscuit is too little. Before the lounges went (Accor ?) they always had cheese and I loved it, particularly with quince jam. But I haven't seen it anywhere since the switch.

I asked one of the staff what happened to the cheese and got the usual reply "I will check with the kitchen", not knocking him, that is a perfectly acceptable customer service response. Three minutes later he comes to where I have perched in the lounge and delivers a plate of cheese, crackers and other morsels (figs, etc).

Great service. The prospective customer I was meeting in the lounge, already impressed with the J bar, decided that the lounge staff must know me that I could get this treatment! I'm here often enough, maybe striking up a rapport with the staff is a pretty good idea (some of the more experts on here have prob arrived at this conclusion years ago!).
