My husband and I are flying to Singapore today. For various reasons, mainly cost and one of us having QF travel vouchers, we are flying on different airlines. My husband, who is flying BA, was able to complete his checkin online and only has to do a bag drop.

However on Qantas this is not possible. Even the J queue at 0800 this morning, was about 30 minutes and increased markedly whilst I was in it.

Surely Qantas must realise that their IT systems are not up to date and are costing them money employing staff. Having being caught up in the chaos in Europe caused by BA’s
IT problems, we find it amazing that, in this instance, BA’s IT systems leave QF’s for dead.

One piece of encouraging news is that QF are training staff in the lounge this morning.

Yep, Qantas has lost the plot. We spent 45mins at J checkin at Melbourne International and there were only 3 couples/family’s infront of us. Checkin was open well before the 3hr mark so that seems to be an admission that it will take so long.

Big difference between the two is that you need to be vaccinated against Covid to fly QF International.

It was perfectly easy to do OLCI with them before this.

30 mins for me at SYD intl in j. Only 4 people (1 couple & 2 singles) ahead of me. Y line looked long when I arrived at airport around 0530 despite only a couple of early departures on qf.
