My understanding is that any LCC with cheap sale fare, a name change = big fees,
jetstar website has change of name fee warnings everywhere

I booked a discount 1 wav flight using "budgetair" I have heard horror stories about these 3rd parties and generally avoid them , but this one I let my guard down for the sake of convenience

Put my First, middle surname (A B C) into budget air's system
pressed submit, it said booking will be confirmed as AB C
started again, entered A B C again,
booking name was AB C, but email from budget air was A B C (so i thought no problems, probably a formatting issue on budget air site)

3 days later, call Jetstar and the ticket is under AB C, and the fear of turning up at the airport to be outright declined boarding because or being told, buy a new ticket for 3x the price,

fearing a fee, customer rep said , let me call the other department, 30 mins later on the phone, fixed, new itinerary issued

did I just get lucky, or is a formatting name issue not considered a change of name eg Blogs Joe to Joe Blogs

Joining first and middle name is very common, even qantas does it.

I would be happy with any ticket displayed as C/AB, where AB are joined (or AB C written on an itinerary)

There would have been no problems at the airport and no need to change anything.

Agree with @MEL_Traveller there was nothing of concern here.

I also noticed Budget Air does this so I no longer enter my middle name. But it wouldn’t have been an issue. At airports where middle name is required I find the airline just hand-writes it on the boarding pass.

Would a "putting in a space" or changing middles names etc be considered name changes? For other lcc/other situations?
