Hi guys, Just after some advise
So the story is Booked a some flights on separate ticket. As im going to BOM for a mates wedding, and while over there we are heading to Dubia to visit another friend for a couple of days.

Pretty much got everything organised i think. Just not sure if i was a left the connection a bit close.

I am also using the E-visa (single entry)

One being 9W 537 from DXB to BOM Landing 23:20

Then 2 hrs 40 Minutes later

MA 187 from BOM to KUL. at 02:00

From what i have been told, because its on a separate ticket that I will need to get another E-visa. As technically i am entering India for the second time. (Is this true)

Is the 2hrs 40 Minutes enough time to transfer?

Its been a long time since I was in BOM, so I expect things should have improved or at least changed since then. I can't answer the question about the E-Visa, but I'd suspect if you remain in the transit area (i.e. Airside) it should be ok. But don't quote me, just what I'd expect. I'd check with the Indian Embassy or the website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/visa/tvoa.html

As far as a 2hr 40min layover on seperate tickets, its a close run thing. Assuming flights are on time and no major delays in transfers, you should be ok. But, for me, its a bit to close for comfort. I personally would have gone for a minimum of 4 hours. (comfort range of 5 to 6 hours). I'd do a little research on which Terminal you arrive and depart from and study the airport map to. Just to get a heads up on where you have to go beforehand. A quick look at 9W's website mentions a change of terminals for them at BOM. So, investigate this. It might save you 5 or 10 minutes if you know already where you have to go in the event of a really tight connection.

Apart from that, you will be in the lap of the gods, so to speak. All going well, it should be ok. But, be prepared for the worst

I arrived into DHL from Singapore on an existing a couple of days ago. Had I been transitting to a domestic flight I definitely could have done that without entering landside and using my Evisa up. Of course this is not BOM and I don't know how a terminal change would play into the mix.

If Jet and MH have interline agreements - you can check your luggage through ( which should be the case ), you will stay airside and not need a second Evisa. You will probably have enough time, but who knows in India, anything can and does happen. Hand luggage if possible would be best; if not, don't pack anything you need be case your bags do not join you on the same flight. I'm not saying that will happen, but it's India and it could.

If you can't interline, you'll need to collect your luggage and go land side in which case I think you will need a second visa. I'd check with the consulate however what you are told in Australia by the Indian consular officials and what happens in India may be completely different. If that is the case I would doubt you'll have enough time.

India is a fascinating place, but it operates completely differently to anything else, go with the flow and always over compensate time wise.
